BOULDER A man who ran for a Boulder County commissioner post in 2004 was arrested Jan. 3 as part of a three-month Boulder County Drug Task Force investigation, according to a news release issued Thursday.
Jeffrey Christen-Mitchell, 55, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with the intent to distribute, conspiracy to distribute marijuana and distribution of marijuana. Nine others were also arrested in the sting, and two others have warrants issued for their arrests, according to the news release.
The investigation included three search warrants and yielded $7,000 in drug proceeds, 50 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms, various prescription drugs and stolen property, the task force reported.
Christen-Mitchell ran as the Libertarian candidate for Boulder County commissioner in 2004, losing to Will Toor in the general election after running a passive campaign. In September 2004, Christen-Mitchell joined fellow Libertarians Paul Tiger and Bo Shaffer to found the Boulder County chapter of National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.

...losing to Will Toor in the general election after running a passive like, totally laid-back campaign. There, that's better.

LOL!
Those shrooms grow wild where I live. Seems just a little strange that people go to jail for something that sprouts out of every cow pie in my pasture!

"James Earl Carter's Presidency and Present. The Highest Ideals in the Oval Office in my lifetime. Since he left D.C. it takes 2 or 3 hours of The West Wing to restore respect for our Country's Chief Executive. Malcolm X's message was two fold. Stand Up for Yourself and the Brotherhood of Man. He was the Rolling Stone Black Emancipator, my favorite over the Beatle's version." --Jeff Christen-Mitchell

I think this guy's brain was fried by an overdose of television.

What's worse? A libertarian who possesses drugs in violation of law, or a soldier who possesses an "illegal gun" in NYC, where that too is against the law? Freepers were calling for leniency in the Dixon case, because the "law was wrong." Thing is, it might just not be the only law that is wrong.

It's easy to charge anyone with anything. They confiscate money all the time and call it "drug proceeds," even when it's from little old ladies cashing out their lifetime bank account.
Now, answer my question.

"Two local Libertarians got word last week from the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws that their Boulder County chapter is official. Longmont resident Paul Tiger and Boulder resident Jeff Christen-Mitchell are hoping to grow the chapter beyond its current five members."
Looks like they've lost a member or two.

And that Libertarian pothead will do more time behind bars than the Republican congressmen who sold out their country for Abramoff bribe money...or the guy convicted of raping a six year old girl who was sentenced to sixty days behind bars by a Republican judge.
