I'm sorry, I don't see Tim's pipedream of eyeing Al Gore's old job ten years down the road anything nearly as egregious as Natalie Maines public denouncing of President Bush while overseas on the eve of the 2003 Invasion of Iraq.
Tim's not a bad guy and a cut abouve your average songwriter, imho. He's still young enough to wake up and realize that when Clinton said, "The Democrats need candidates whom people can relate to in a personal way, people who understand their lives and their concerns and share their values. And I think that's something Tim can do without even pretending," ... he left out, "Like I did".

I think the comparison to The Dixie Chicks is unfair, hell, I'm a recovering liberal myself. Besides, there's lots of hope for Tim, he's a minority in the crowd he runs with and one of these days his peers will straighten him out. "Maybe in 10 or 15 years when the music has died down," he'll have grown up and will be running as a conservative.
