Anybody who wouldn't vote for the Republican in the major elections would not be any form of conservative.

Anyone who does not vote for the conservative in a primary is not a Republican.

I think you should go for all the big changes in your party representation in the primaries where a Democrat can't get the victory. Then you back whoever the Republican is in the regular election, whether it would in 30 years be a McClintock possibly or this year a Schwarzenegger.
