A recent poll shows the born-again "moderate" Republican governor has gained back some popularity, especially in the Bay Area, and is now in a dead heat with Democratic competitors.
"Our survey demonstrates that Schwarzenegger's retreat from the more conservative rhetoric and agenda he brandished during the latter part of 2005 has paid off among middle-of-the road voters," said Melinda Jackson, director of the Survey and Policy Research Institute at San Jose State University.
The governor's job performance rating among voters in a Democrat-leaning state has climbed from 36 percent positive and 53 percent negative in September, to 40 percent positive and 51 percent negative this month.

taunts. That's mostly all that you've got, fm-dj.
They liberal Ah-noldbot RINOs trot out that "not a team player" canard endlessly. What the RINO establishment wants from McClintock is his soul, his silence and pledge to NEVER speak out when he sees wrongdoing by misguided liberals infesting the Republican party like a cancer. That's why they've been sandbagging him for over a dozen years. They fear him because he dares speak the truth.
That's all you've got. Taunts.
I do enjoy threads and posts which prove my points. Saves me the time of re-raising those points.
I'm not suggesting, dear one.
Two issues, first that a conservative has to have more than a Democrat going on in order to get elected in a state where many have state jobs.
Second issue is the candidate as you kind of said needs to be likable. Especially a conservative needs to be appealing to get elected in California.
IMO had Ronald Reagan not been before a movie star, he would probably never been elected to office with just his politics.
People knowing you, or liking you gives the candidate on a conservative side a chance at getting elected.
IMO McClintock has near zero likability and that has been his greatest problem in the state as I see it.
BTW, since Ah-nold has been elected, how many additional Republicans has he helped get elected to statewide/legislative office in California ?
*Yawn*
Oh! Humor? Are you taking SierraWasps' usual spot in this? Hmm, I better ping him. Or, are you him/her? Different computers using different providers will provide a different ISP-exact. Just wondering.
But anyone who claims to be conservative, knew about the special election and turned out to vote with the Democrats on the PROPOSITIONs is NO conservative.
There can be some argument about some people aren't getting the electability issue, but there is NO EXCUSE for people who claim to be conservatives to vote with the Democrats and trying to get others to do so as well.
You are just making yourself look pathetic by quoting something totally out of context.
Proof ? Evidence ?
Do research on McClintock, probably add the word spoiler to it.
"That's all you've got. Taunts."
And you still won't answer the question.

Here's a little start in the right direction for you.
"IMO McClintock has near zero likability"
Exactly, it's YOUR opinion. The rest of us Conservatives don't share it.
And this is what you call "breaching" his oath? You've just very carefully suggested that Governor Schwarzennegger is operating in the best interests of Austria. That his dual citizenship makes him more an "Austrian" than an American. I'm sure you knew you were "carefully" asserting this.
So, tell me. How long has "Austria" been benefitting financially and socially from CA Governor Schwarzenneger, himself? Does he send them money? Have spies he networks with over there? Is planning to "import" as many Austrians to CA as possible to take over CA?
Nah.
Here, at this adjuct, I think you'll just insert the usual about "mexican" immigrants, legal and/or illegal.
I agree 76 could have been done much better than it was and I believe there is one that will limit spending again on the ballot in 2006.
un-huh. There ya go.. bootstrapping off of conservatives issues into order to "slime" a poster and because that's what you do. Or, are here for?
Darling, darling, no one could ever hope to take your mantle in that department.
"And 90% of the California voters will NOT vote for McClintock no matter what. So guess who is going to get elected? Certainly NOT McClintock." -- Fair Opinion 1/13/2006
I remember only pieces of what went on but only because I was up to my eyeballs dealing with other matters.
