Schwarzenegger's re - election chances up
The Argus ^ | Jan. 13, 2005 | Steve Geissinger

A recent poll shows the born-again "moderate" Republican governor has gained back some popularity, especially in the Bay Area, and is now in a dead heat with Democratic competitors.

"Our survey demonstrates that Schwarzenegger's retreat from the more conservative rhetoric and agenda he brandished during the latter part of 2005 has paid off among middle-of-the road voters," said Melinda Jackson, director of the Survey and Policy Research Institute at San Jose State University.

The governor's job performance rating among voters in a Democrat-leaning state has climbed from 36 percent positive and 53 percent negative in September, to 40 percent positive and 51 percent negative this month.

And you're STILL in Arizona. Why don't you prove that you're a Republican and go help Don Goldwater depose the bulldyke ?

I know you are using "posts" to sucker others into something which isn't being discussed.

A curious statement in light of the fact this article is about a recent poll which documented that Schwarzenegger was losing support among conservatives and Republicans after he announced his proposed budget:

But in recasting himself as a moderate advocate for public works with a Democratic chief of staff and a conciliatory tone, the governor has lost some favor among his fellow Republicans and among conservatives.

That many conservatives on this forum were simply attempting to point out why the Austrian was loosing support is hardly trying to "sucker" anyone.

Is it?

Where, how do you consider Rhode Island the most "liberal"? It's a very tiny state; but I guess it serves your purpose.

I see. So a sworn-into-America citizen, An American, is referred to by you as "The Austrian".

Figures.

I posted several articles which specifically stated that the turnout in "conservative strongholds" were several percentage below the normal, while in Dem stronghold it was higher.

That's clear evidence that conservatives didn't bother to support the propositions that would have made the changes conservatives claim they want: reduce power of unions and reduce spending.

And some people, who CLAIM to be conservative, such as yourself, calcowgirl, actually came out to VOTE WITH THE DEMOCRATS against the propositions, which would have helped reform CA.

As you read earlier, all the conservatives who I called on election day mostly did not know it was the day to vote. So most certainly there was no turn out.

Regarding a vote for a third party or not voting or voting the same way as a Democrat... Sure isn't going to help conservatives much at all to do that kind of thing. IMO most of the third parties seem to be big social liberals or a plain waste of vote when it helps a Democrat.

GO for changes in primaries and then vote the Republican in no matter what, even a McClintock (God help us).

I can appreciate views which express dismay with Gov S. And from anywhere. There's legitimate disagreement; and then there's "something else" a foot.

A certain specific "identity group" bootstraps "conservative principles. Where I lived in CA it was VERY obvious what these folks were up to. They support "quotas" for whites, etc. Support "abortion" (but in their unspoken caveats) for minorities only)

It's that "something else" which continues to be played out on all of us, here on FR and I do perceive more "notable" types are also seeing it at their levels of interactions.

And that's how I read it.

I certainly hope you are NOT referring to people on this thread. If you are, this is OVER THE TOP!

"What you've posted, FairOpinion, is correct in my POV."

"And 90% of the California voters will NOT vote for McClintock no matter what. So guess who is going to get elected? Certainly NOT McClintock." -- Fair Opinion 1/13/2006

Anything but correct, that's for sure.

I know you are using "posts" to sucker others into something which isn't being discussed.

If you have an allegation to make, make it. I certainly want to know what you think I am trying to "sucker" others into.

Try the other leg, it's got bells.

??? I have know idea what you are insinuating. Is this another insult?

Gee whiz, Fieldmarshall -- your own "ideologic allies" have asserted that time and time again -- anyone not in CA but posting anything other than the politically correct "Ahnold is a rino" agenda is a .. what was that.. a "frenchie" or not a real conservative, or doesn't know what they are talking about.

You aren't in CA. I guess your opinions are okay.

But since I don't believe you or your agenda, your quote is meaningless.

Aren't we in agreement that most Republicans who visit this forum feel that the CAGOP is attempting to champion causes which further conservatism in America?

Aren't we in agreement that Republicans who visit this forum assume that supporting the CAGOP will further the conservative cause?

Aren't we in agreement that most Republicans who visit this forum clearly understand that they can't influence political decisions if their party doesn't win?

I think we are.

Nah. Right about now, it's time for SierraWasp to show up to cast some humor. Or NormsRevenge to "mediate" by posting something "let's all get alongish".
