She said at the Press Conference although they do not have troops on the ground in Iraq the outcome of Iraq is important. I got the impression that she is more pro Iraq/WOT than she is actually saying.

I can also understand her other views about prisoner treatment etc especially given her East German background.

Merkel's constituents are not very far along the road with her re Iraq so I am sure she has to keep her comments somewhat guarded.
