Never underestimate the ignorance and stupidity of the Demonrat voter.

Add "willingness to cheat" to "ignorance" and stupidity" and you have the recipe for Slick Willie's two terms. I hope such an infliction never befalls our country again.

I particularly liked his 2001:A Space Odyssey analogy, because it was spot on!

Nah, that ape with the thighbone is much too skinny to be Fat Teddy.

"No it wasn't. The obelisk was the sign of a great leap forward in evolution. Compare it with the Apes and Dave."

I thought the touching of the obelisk was symbolical of the birth of intellectual inquiry -- or intellectual evolution. Something so strange and out of place it shocked them. It no doubt made them realize their nakedness, their void of understanding. A point of departure for their new paradigm.

I wish someone could get to Rush and remind him that this attack dog style was similar to how the tried to get to Dick Cheney about his lesbian daughter.

They have no ideas--simply a reflexive desire to go for the throat on personal attacks.

Thanks for posting this, wagglebee. Excellent dissection and biopsy of a near-dead era of stagnancy and retro-gression of the party that should never have been.

Maybe, but I discussed the Alito hearings with my wife, who is not political and certainly not a FReeper though she likes Bush, the USA and our troops....

Anyway, she remarked that what the democrats did to Alito and making his wife leave in tears was despicable and was the talk of all the office, with even the token office liberals angry at the dems. I was surprised as it's so apparent right now how hard the biased MSM is trying to bury this story. People still know about it. I aksed her how she knew and she said people in her office were playing it on media payer from a web site. This is the NEW MEDIA. It didn't exist in Slick Willie's day.

So maybe it did backfire on them. Rush is right.

Yes, I should have mentioned vote fraud and buying votes through federal state government largess. Also unions delivering the vote for the Demonrats (although not the force they once were). Only thing Repubs have going is the discerning, realistic, and intelligent voter. Where else can we go but with the Republican Party? Even Repub-bashing Mike Savage looks to the Republican Party as the only hope for the nation.

my fave: "and as an intellectual pursuit, the days of liberalism being able to automatically sway massive public opinion -- ask Dan Rather -- are over."

Ouch.

Thanks for the transcript. My favorites:

They think their best and brightest are on this judiciary committee, and it's an embarrassing bunch of arrogant, condescending fools.

...they can't compete with this man intellectually. They can't hold his coats. They can't. They can't lick his shoes. They're not fit to lick Sam Alito's shoes...

Brilliant!

I can't be made to understand how they can put Ted Kennedy -- an old, bitter, enraged, hateful, burned-out left-wing corrupt Ted Kennedy -- as the face of the Democratic Party.

IMHO the reason they use Ted as the face of the Democratic Party is because that is the only thing they have left, the past glory of the Kennedy name.

The Kennedy name used to be a magic word but it's all played out now.

You're SO right about this being one of Rush's best.

The tactics the Democrats used destroyed Robert Bork in 1987. They reduced Clarence Thomas's confirmation to an empty victory in 1991. But this time, they not only didn't work, but they actually backfired.

The CAP thing is the most significant. Yesterday, Ted Kennedy threatened to force the committee into closed session over the records. Well, the records showed up today, and the 'Rats DIDN'T EVEN BRING IT UP!!!!!!!

The only thing that's in doubt is how many Red-State Democrats will cross party lines and support Samuel Alito.
