Yes and no.

It's legalized theft in regard to smokers, but not when it comes to the tobacco companies. They agreed to that, as long as the states agreed to let them tack on 100% of the settlement costs onto the price of a pack of cigarettes. Smokers had no place at the table during the working of that deal.

I don't have a dawg in that fight..I smoked for 41 years..started when i was 14 and had a major heart attack at 55...have not smoked since then. Want to really bad some days, though.

Smoking didn't cause the heart attack...just all the good food we eat here. Smoking did, however, cause the enphyazema and c.o.p.d. to my lungs.

It does, however, gall me to see the goobermint going after a legal business, especially, when they are dancing in the streets over the monies they are collecting from that particular industry.

T'is a topsy turvy world in which we live, methinks.
