President Bush declared Oklahoma a major disaster area due to wildfires.
In Louisville, Kentucky, he gave a speech on the global war on terror, particularly Iraq.
Judge Alito's wife left her husband's Senate hearing in tears as a result of the collegial Democrat Senators' "questions" to her husband.

QUOTE: "I firmly believe that years from now people are going to look back and say, thank goodness the new generation of Americans who rose to the challenge of a war against terror had faith in the capacity of freedom to help change the world. And someday an American President is going to be talking to a duly elected leader from Iraq, talking about how to keep the peace for a generation to come."
This may seem an odd choice for first photo, but in light of what the Senate dems did today, this picture seems to beg the question, "What are they THINKING over there in the Senate?"

That's the same expression I have had this week listening to the idiocy from the ones participating in Alito's Senate hearing!

Vladimir Arutyunian, accused of trying to kill U.S. President Bush, gets out of a police truck before a trial in Tbilisi, Georgia. His trial nears its end on Wednesday, as the court was expected to convene for closing statements. He faces life in prison for the charges of trying to kill Bush and Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili at a huge rally in May and for killing a policeman in a shootout before his arrest.

Hello, all!
Re Mrs. Alito, I heard 2 stories, one that she left the hearing in tears, and one that she cried after talking to Sen. Graham, after he had apologized to her for the way her husband was treated during the hearings.

In case some haven't seen Alito's family: e (L-R) son Philip, daughter Laura, (former Senator Dan Coats), sister Rosemary Alito and wife Martha (before the Democrats fired up their tanks).

Back in DC

All clear.

She must really be suffering for her husband. I'm sure he can take the abuse a lot better than she can listen to them do it to someone she loves.

Her angst reminds me of how 41 and 43 say they can take personal criticism (read: malicious attack) with much more ease than they can when either of the other is attacked.
