Yes, he certainly was !!!
Onelifetogive, a proud McCarthyite!
"I am sick to death of the liberal media trying to crucify McCarthy."
The same reaction they have to GWB, to Rush and to Fox News, more than coincidence I think.
Well the Truth hurts, and stuck liberal pigs scream real loud.
</platitudes off>
The commie symp libs did everything they could to destroy the man. In the end, he was broken, but history and the Venona Papers have proven him right.
Thanks!! I remember in high school we were tought that McCarthy = evil, son of Hitler, evil capitalist, etc...
It wasn't until I read Coulter's book that I began to question the whole "McCarthy is evil" premise. The VENONA documents PROVE that McCarthy was right all along! Yet today Hollywood gives us more propaganda BS movies about the sinister McCarthy of liberal myth.
How about ONE movie or ONE article or ONE news story in the media about the truth?
They are trying to do it to Reagan too, but the American people have called them on it. The liberal media has shown that they will slander anyone who dares challenge their socialist principles until LONG after their death.
If McCarthy was a flawed man, his flaws are historically insignificant. He was, at least, on the right side.
I'd like to make all the MSM buttholes who ridicule the communist menacne read the book Elini in which an NYT reporter explores his childhood in post-war Greece and how the filthy communist scum tortured and murdered his mother for trying to protect him.
While we're at it, let's make "Blue states / Red states" a campaign issue. For real!
It's part tongue in cheek, but anyone with knowledge of 20th century history - knows Democrats logically are the Reds. They're reds as in communism. Reds as in Redcoats (big government, taxes) They're the red ones.
Why is it *everyone* (and especially why did FoxNews) agreed to say Republicans are red? It's absurd. And it just might make an effective club, rhetorically.
I mean, as long as we're reclaiming "MCCARTHY WAS RIGHT". How about "All your Blue are belong to us"?
(and no, there's no sarcasm above)
Just watch, soon they will be calling him "McCarthyesque". It's the same old playbook, and it is boringly predictable.
No, he'll never be forgiven for being an alcoholic, lying windbag who did more to damage ligitimate anti-communism then anybody else, right or left.
He under estimated the number of communists in government positions.
Maybe we could get the USPS to do a special issue McCarthy stamp!?
I mean, the muslims have their own US postage stamp... right?
What did he lie about?
Speaking of which, the MSM gleeful never fails to remind us that Joe McCarthy was, and died, an alcoholic. You think he drank more or less than Ted Kennedy?
Just because he was right about the influence of Communism in the government does not make him any less of a self-aggrandizing bully as a person. I have no respect for the man after his baseless and self-serving attacks on General Marshall, a great American who contributed far more to our country than McCarthy ever did.
Jesus Christ himself could've been leading the anti-communist movement and he would've been just as demonized and attacked for doing so. The more I learned about McCarthy, the more I found he was one of the most incredibly and unjustifiably maligned figures in U.S. history, if not THE most wrongfully vilified.
A lot of things.
He may have been right about the communist influence, but he claimed to know who, and accused everybody under the sun of it to further his cause.
Ever heard of crying wolf?
He didn't know, had no proof, and he was a lying sack of sh!t, and was rightly brought down by fellow republicans, as well as patriotic, hawkish democrats like Henry Jackson, back when there were democrats like him.
