Graham wants to advance the proposition that, if he and McCain get their legislation, the President's hands are tied. I don't like what he is doing at all.
I don't like this questioning. He's taking this hearing in the completely wrong direction.
I'm not a Graham fan in general, and this just reinforces my opinion of him. Give me Cornyn or Hatch any day. At least Graham livened things up a bit. It was a real snooze-fest there for awhile.
Whoa......I'm beginning to think you may have a point.
Hmmm..
Oh, I see now. I wasn't aware of his proposed legislation. I don't think I would like it either, especially if McCain has his hands in it.
Interesting he is defending the Administration. Interesting indeed.
Sort of. I'll have to read the transcript because Graham is going pretty fast - but sometimes he is arguing for Presidential power, other times for Congressional power. Lost in that is how to balance rights of enemy (zero) with rights of civilians - who will say how much civilian right will be impinged? Will there be oversight?
Graham has valid concerns, FWIW, but this is a crappy way to air them.
Perhaps the fault lies with whoever wrote that post 9/11 memo.
