This secrecy was threatened in early 1974 when the astronauts on Skylab pointed their camera out the window and took pictures of a facility that did not officially exist. Whoops!
If you've ever been out in that area, you know how creepy the moonscape is and how easy it is to imagine aliens. LOL!
ET phone home?

I have talked to guys that worked there...they wouldn't talk about it. They made vague references...but that was it. Then one worked on the stealth. They live in at Nellis and they fly them by chopper at the start of the week and fly them back at the end of the week. They get to eat real well and they have nice work out facilities...

Groom Lake is one of the remote airstrips for testing of new designs of military aircraft. Of course what goes on there is secret, even now, but everybody around there has known of its existence all along, and many have had jobs there.

Mister, you are this close (holding my thumb and forefinger very closely together!) to being reported for abuse!
The visual concept of someone french-kissing Helen Thomas is too evil to comprehend and is worthy of being reported for abuse.
Will you apologize?!
To: marmar
Not by chopper. The flew them by plane. My brother was one of them.

For instance, the existence of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), which manages Americas spy satellite program, first became known in a 1971 New York Times article
The Old Grey Whore at work.

Yeah but it doesnt show the massive network of facilities underneath the surface, and our alien overlords.

Heck that's nothing.
One of the later moon landings "lost" all the stills and movie film from their side trip to a crater which had previously been the location of unexplained lights.
