LISTEN TO ANDREW: WILKOW on WABC

Sunday, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. EST

THE NEXT GENERATION OF GREAT TALK RADIO

Andrew Wilkow is the newest and youngest member of the WABC air staff. Yes, he's in his very early 30's, but we don't want to reveal his real age because we don't want to come back and update this bio every year. He does speak a little bit of a different language than your typical WABC talk show host, but we think that's a good thing.

This guy Wilkow is great and has a future in conservative talk radio, he's not a clone either.

That does set him apart from the others. Most need to have guests to fill in their shows. Some guests are OK if they actually add something to the topic.

Go Andrew.

Rush is not Sean, Sean is not Levin, Wilkow is not Levin.
No worries, different flavors. You have teachers that are converting and seeing the light now... we must push forward.

The only thing is that the Republicans have styrofoam knuckles, not brass (could apply to parts of their bodies too).

Hey Andrew, how many people know that UC Berkeley was originally started as a conservative counter for those fleeing the liberal colleges of San Francisco?

Yes, I did but that wasn't in NYState I believe. I don't smoke. I don't think any tax money should be earmarked JUST for people who are here illegally. (We have a plumbing problem now. I feel so bad. While washing my hands, I accidentally knocked a small womens electric razor into the toilet while it was flushing. It may be a 6 hour job for my husband to take the toilet apart. The thing cost $5 at Walmart. I feel awful.)

If they had those parts. Reminds me of a depression story. Guy gets a construction job in the city (extremely lucky), gets sick months in, wife goes to work for him. The woman's carrying heavy bricks up on the outside of the building on a ladder, her pants split. A guy comes by to ask for a job, looks up and says that's ok, you've worked the balls off that guy.

FYI, Andrew. Do not let your heart be troubled (I'm sure you wouldn't), you are over 500 views (that's great, btw). So those freepers who bi-task are watching the nefarious Sunday Talk Shows (hey, if you're Catholic, you can offer it up for the conversion of libs), and listening. Some are doing the King Kong thing... turning you back and forth to check you out (not to be confused with Brokeback Mountain). You are an acquired taste and a great help for those on FR.

Kerry got 98,000. What's killing me are the ones who say they're not giving it back and they don't know Jack... if you know what I mean (I call them the Jackamoffs.

John Doolittle (R-CA) is not giving back Abramoff money ($4,000). He says he didn't take it illegally and there is no reason to give it back. Maybe Doolittle is who we need for Majority Leader.

Rep. Kennedy Defends Cash Tied to Abramoff

WASHINGTON, Jan. 4, 2006

(AP) Rep. Patrick Kennedy, citing his support for American Indian causes, says he has no plans to return any of the $42,500 he took from tribes represented by GOP lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

"He's proud to have their support," Kennedy chief of staff Sean Richardson said Wednesday. "He's got direct personal relationships with tribes. ... He looks at it as a human and civil rights issue, the fact that they're still not treated with the dignity and respect they deserve."

Kennedy, D-R.I., was the top congressional Democratic recipient of Abramoff-linked funds, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a campaign watchdog group that analyzed contributions from 1999 to 2005. He was eighth overall among members of Congress.

Abramoff, who has admitted he defrauded some Indian tribes, is at the heart of a burgeoning Capitol Hill corruption scandal.

Kennedy was never lobbied by Abramoff or any of his associates and he did not receive any checks from Abramoff, Richardson said.

While President Bush and other top Republicans scrambled to give away contributions from tribes linked to Abramoff, Kennedy aides said the congressman's family, beginning with his late uncle Robert F. Kennedy in the 1960s, has championed American Indian causes.

The congressman co-founded the Native American Caucus in the House in 1997. He also raised money from several tribes for his party as the head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee during 1999 and 2000.

The congressman has received contributions from 110 tribes and visited about a dozen reservations, Richardson said. Kennedy has accepted donations from Indian gambling interests since he first came to Congress a decade ago.

From the Modesto Bee on 1/06/06:

WASHINGTON — In the two days since former lobbyist Jack Abramoff admitted that campaign contributions were among his tools to win favors from elected officials, the number of politicians rushing to disgorge the money from their campaign treasuries has swelled to at least two dozen. Rep. John Doolittle, R-Roseville, who reportedly could be caught up in the ongoing investigation, is not among them. Doolittle believes that following the lead of President Bush, House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., and House Majority Whip Roy Blunt, R-Mo., only would make him look guilty of doing something wrong. "Congressman Doolittle refuses to give even the slightest appearance of something wrong by returning money that was accepted legally and ethically," said the congressman's spokeswoman, Laura Blackman. "Mr. Abramoff only contributed $4,000 to the congressman, so it wouldn't cause much of a hardship to our campaign," she said. "But this is a matter of principle to the congressman,' Blackman added. "He has done absolutely nothing wrong and has no intention of returning any contribution from anyone that was made in an ethical and legal manner, regardless of how many of his colleagues do so out of political expediency or how much the media tries to irresponsibly distort the propriety of Mr. Doolittle's actions," she said. Democrats join the refusal Doolittle is not alone in refusing to attempt to rid his campaign of any political stink from Abramoff money by shunting past contributions to charity. Some of those joining him are Democrats. For instance, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has received $47,000 from Abramoff associates and Indian tribes he represented and does not plan to give it away.
