How arrogant we are to think a simplistic "pox on both their Houses" answer is the solution in US Politics. Easy to sneer at everything. That takes no wisdom.
Nothing in life is perfect. You make dozens of compromises every day. Such as biting your tongue instead of telling the boss what a flaming A@@hole he is. Politics is NO different.
Politics is where dozens of competing interests get together to hammer out SOMETHING we all can live under. Like all compromises it ends up leaving all sides mad.
There are too many Freepers who live in a make believe world. They think they are being "cool" or "Smart" to sneer at everyone and everything in politics. They are not. What they are prescribing is a policy designed for Political Irreverence. To actually have any influence in politics you simply must pick the side that most often agrees with you and work you but off to direct them towards where you want to go NOT throwing a tempertanrturm anytime 100% of what you want is NOT done the second you want it done. The 100%er may as well wander off and join a third party of they want political perfection. THERE you will find the 5% of the people who agree with you and can spend all your time patting each other on the back for your ideological purity. That will last about two weeks then you will start to fracture into smaller and smaller groups as some of you start "feeling betrayed" because the leadership did B instead of A. You will be completely political irrelevant but you can feel really good about how morally superior your intellectual purity is to "those other guys".
Politics is a careful balance and sometimes saying nothing to achieve the bigger picture further down the road.
