Haven't read the Coulter book, but I understand that Michele Malkin has a similar one chronicling craziness on the Left. Because she was an undergraduate at Oberlin, ground-zero for knee-jerk-leftism, she must find political correctness in Washington and the media to be minor stuff compared to what she grew up with. She's a knife-fighter who happens also to be adorable - a perfect coupling in a media age, and here, too, akin to Coulter.

Hannity might really have been helping Swannie out, beginning the process of innoculating him from reports to come. I think the public gives space to movie, sports, other "stars" - to say nothing of musical performers, eg. Ted Nugent - regarding matters sexual. Indeed, I think Swannie might well benefit from all such revelations, and particularly in Philly voting districts! Ethnics in Philly are hardly going to be turned off hearing that a football star had some swinging times.

Another sore spot. Matthews has been scrolling the names of House and Senate members who have "returned" tainted money from Abramhoff - but it seems that all the names are Reps, and only a solitary Dem here or there happens to make it. I suppose he can say that that's because so many Dems, eg. Harry Reid, have NOT returned the money!

Regardless, however one defines "fair and balanced" and irrespective of whether one thinks Fox qualifies, what is clear is that Matthews is a poster child of the opposite: unfair, unbalanced to the point of unhinged.

Mr. Zaborney represents what's wrong with too many professional campaigners. They don't understand that the best way to find the strongest candidate is to see who can get the most votes.

Which was the toughest Republican presidential primary of the past 40 years? The 1980 primary! In that primary, Ronald Reagan appeared to be defeated. George H.W. Bush had "the big Mo" momentum of having won a few primaries. John Anderson was still making a strong showing. If Mr. Reagan had lost the North Carolina primary, he would have quit the race and quit politics. He put his last resources into that primary and won. With that win, the tide turned, and he won the primaries and then the presidency. That victory led to the George H.W. Bush win in '88 and George W. Bush wins in 2000 and 2004.

The same principle has worked on the other side. Two of the toughest Democrat primaries of the past 40 years have been the 1992 and 1976 primaries, and those primaries have produced the only Democrat wins.

The professional campaigners like to believe that good candidates exist because the professional campaigners find them and package them to the public. Their mindset is that all of their planning is what makes the system work. In reality, the interest generated by a good race will lead to the people selecting the strongest candidate. Sometimes, that candidate will be someone who will be horrible in office (Clinton). Sometimes, that candidate will be great in office (President Reagan). Either way, an energetic primary is not what causes candidates to lose in the general election.

Yes, it's for liberal Debbie Stabenow's seat. Butler is the real deal, a true conservative who is pro-life, pro-gun, pro-business and pro-family values. Butler was elected to the Detroit City Council a few years ago, the only Republican so elected in many decades (remember, Detroit is 85%+ black and 95%+ Democrat), and if he can get as little as 25% of the vote in Detroit it would be impossible for Stabenow to win.
