An Oxnard man who broke into the bedroom of a Rancho Cucamonga apartment early Friday morning was shot and killed by one of the occupants —

a prison counselor for the state Department of Corrections...

The intruder, Hector Soto, 21, of Oxnard, died less than three hours after being shot ...

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department did not release the prison counselor's name.

He will not be charged...

Sorry to end all of your enjoyment guys, but this was all an accident. The kid was drunk, and after trying for half an hour to unlock the door with his keys, he just climbed in the window. He thought he was at home and that the other guy had broken in. And he was attending school, so he wasn't just another criminal. So for all of you guys excited for the death of an "intruder" sorry to spoil your fun. It was all just a big, sad accident.
