"Game over. Dems win. All you have to do is throw some baseless accusations at our most effective leaders and the others will turn tail and run."
Hell, the Dems won when Delay ralroaded theough the pork-filled budget and said there was no fat left to trim.
The Dems won when Delay refused to add border security to the Homeland Security bill.

When he steps down like this, it leads one to wonder if he was telling the truth when he denied all the wrongdoing alleged against him. I would rather that he stayed on and fought. The other Republicans aren't going to do anything anyway.

Did anyone hear or read his statement, Yom Delay knew that the MSM and Dims were going pound this for the rest of the year. Delay is a honorable man and I would have done the same if in his position.

Delay is the one who propped up K street and enabled Abramoff.Delay needs to get his house in order, then he can come back.

Dangit. I missed Red and blues have to go, comment The entire comment was: 'Good Men' aren't typically indicted.
It makes no sense to zot that comment. It's true. Typically, they're not. And maybe this indictment is bogus, but that doesn't make Delay a good man - he's a weaselly politician who rams through pork then claims there's no fat to cut.
America deserves better than "good men" like that.

Anyone remember, just a year ago, the Homeland Security bill behing held up... because Delay didn't want border security to be part of the "Homeland Security" package? No I don't recall that.
BTW, your link makes no mention of DeLay.
To: Trueblackman
After his collegues in the house started running for cover like rats, he had no choice.

'Good Men' aren't typically indicted.Makes no sense to me either that he was zotted. Oh well, so are the ways of the world.
To me, it's not the fact that Delay stepped down. It was the 'way' he stepped down.

DeLay acted hours after a small vanguard of Republicans circulated a petition calling for leadership elections and citing DeLay's legal problems as well as his long ties to Abramoff

I hate to say it, but Pence is too conservative and therefore not "popular" enough amongst other House members to win that vote. I hope it happens, but I'm not holding my breath. Do you know if he even wants that post?

"BTW, your link makes no mention of DeLay."
It mentions House leadership, which was Delay.
I remember the threads from a year ago. I couldn't find any of them and didn't want to spend a half hour looking.
If you care, you look 'em up.
My memory is accurate.
