George Clooney Channels Chris Matthews

George Clooney and Chris Matthews, separated at birth? The MSNBC 'Hardball' host caught a lot of heat late last year when he delivered a speech to political science students at the University of Toronto that sounded very much like an anti-American screed.

In the speech Matthews gave this nugget:

“The period between 9-11 and (invading) Iraq was not a good time for America. There wasn’t a robust discussion of what we were doing,” Matthews said. "If we stop trying to figure out the other side, we’ve given up.

I don't understand this weird presentation of "the other side" that Clooney and Matthews push. Of course we have to understand the other guy's motives--that's a given, "know your enemy" is a basic rule of combat.

So why do I have this feeling that neither of these guys would use that term, "enemy", but would shy away from it?

George Clooney, dumb as a brick and not nearly as useful. Of course that applies to 99% of Hollyweird.

Hey, Matthews, with all your bug-eyed ranting, I find that hard to believe.

Agreed. Of course their tactics and motivation should be examined. But I think these two somehow believe it's our fault.

Typical blame America first...

Relax all, George and Chris have been careful to exempt their chillins and grand-chillins, them and theirs from the sh*t they're mouthing today. What useless pigs. What a disgrace to their descendants.

"...then you need to understand what it is that creates the people who would do such horrible things, rather then just saying - labeling them as evildoers."

This is rich. George's friends on the Left do nothing but identify Halliburton and Karl Rove as pure evil incarnate.

Because by "understanding your enemy" George Looney and Matthews mean we need to empathize with terrorists by putting ourselves in their frame of mind and thinking that their frame of mind is valid. Normal people who want to "understand their enemy" simply want to know what they will do next so as to protect themselves. I'll also say this: (forgive me I'm drunk) the antelope instinctively wants to protect itself from the lion, and the lion instinctively wants to eat the antelope. What the hell is their to really think about? Islam is evil and wants to destroy us, and we (normal people) want to stop them. Except Democrats who want to understand Islam in the way Clooney does. Democrats are the weakest link in evolution ( if you believe in that) because they have zero self preservation against those who want to hurt them.

Good points. Clooney and Matthews can't seem to understand that there are people who, even if they perfectly understood their liberal beliefs, would STILL want to kill them. (Maybe even moreso.) They seem to believe that if only the terrorists knew what good guys they were, that they'd nod their heads and shake hands with them, and unite with them against the REAL enemey--George Bush!

They remind me of the scientist in the original version of the movie The Thing, who spends the whole movie foiling the military commander's attempts to fight the alien. When he finally gets a chance to hold out his hand to the alien in peace, it looks at him like he's a mold or amoeba, and kills him without a second thought.

Boy do I agree, He is dumber than a sack full of hammers. But if you take a look at his qualifications to be an expert on war and foreign diplomacy ya have to wonder. According to his Bio, he has never held a real job except acting. He is a high school grad and attended to U of Kentucky but drooped out early on. Basically, he is full of that brown gooey stuff we usually flush down the toilet. Amen.

Matthews and the socialist-left don't have any hate for al Qaeda... that's only reserved for us.

It's all about putting themselves (dems), back in the White House and in control of Congress. Nothing else matters. Nothing. If hundreds of thousands or even millions of Americans have to die in the process -- because they eviscerate the Patriot Act and connive with the enemy, letting them know exactly how we eavesdrop on their plots -- they think it's worth it. Treason.

When was the last time you went to a movie with George Clooney in it? (Shame on you!). The only way to beat these jerks is NOT to support them ... one ticket at a time!

I cancelled my tickets to Celine just after her anti-American rant ... a Canadian criticizing my president? Darned if I'll support that at $300 a crack!

James Reston, Jr. ('Scotty' Reston of the NYTimes?) read a piece of his on NPR the other morning in which he lambasted Rumsfeld for blaming Islam for world violence. He went on and on about the definition of 'caliphs' and said it's laughable to think for even one minute that Muslims dream of establishing a worldwide Caliphate. What a laugh, especially with Iran's nutjob spewing hateful filth and threatening to nuke everyone. No, we shouldn't blame the religion of peace for the fact that wherever there's violence in the world, it's always the locals against Muslims. Just an odd coincidence. Besides, according to Reston, a worldwide Caliphate could never happen. Ha Ha. He didn't mention how we could stop them, however. Maybe we should consult that Nobel prize idiot, Carter, since he had a hand in the start of all this.

Glad to say I've never spent a dime on a ticket to a Clooney movie. I refuse to support any of the Hollywood Left.

Adolf Hitler was abused by his father and lost his mother at an early age. He was forced by poverty to live in a flop-house in Vienna. Then in a crushing blow to his ambitions he was denied admission to the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. No wonder he later caused quite a bit of upset. We should understand these things better. I'm eagerly awaiting the Clooney movie that will cast Hitler's career in a more nuanced light.
