Personally, I think the policeman should have arrested all who lied to him. Last I checked, willingly providing false information to an officer investigating a crime is illegal.

At the very least, someone should have shot them with a paint-gun for stealing private property. Or maybe a nice, warm pie-a-la-Coulter in the face?
