A SOLDIER TAKES ON MURTHA AND MORAN

Mudville Gazette has the details on an Army soldier who confronted Dem Reps. John Murtha and Jim Moran at a town hall meeting in Arlington, Va. Greyhawk transcribed the confrontation:

"Yes sir my name is Mark Seavey and I just want to thank you for coming up here. Until about a month ago I was Sgt Mark Seavey infantry squad leader, I returned from Afghanistan. My question to you, (applause)

"Like yourself I dropped out of college two years ago to volunteer to go to Afghanistan, and I went and I came back. If I didn't have a herniated disk now I would volunteer to go to Iraq in a second with my troops, three of which have already volunteered to go to Iraq. I keep hearing you say how you talk to the troops and the troops are demoralized, and I really resent that characterization. (applause) The morale of the troops that I talk to is phenomenal, which is why my troops are volunteering to go back, despite the hardships they had to endure in Afghanistan.

"And Congressman Moran, 200 of your constituents just returned from Afghanistan. We never got a letter from you; we never got a visit from you. You didn't come to our homecoming. The only thing we got from any of our elected officials was one letter from the governor of this state thanking us for our service in Iraq, when we were in Afghanistan. That's reprehensible. I don't know who you two are talking to but the morale of the troops is very high."

Moran - who is one of the few congressmen supporting Charlie Rangel's call to restore the draft - responded quickly: "That wasn't in the form of a question, it was in the form of a statement. But, uhh... let's go over here." And he took the next question.

Cut and run. It's the only way the Dems know.

Guess what?

Searched for an hour on Google and found what I was looking for about Murtha.
An article printed in the LA Times on June 13, 2005. By Times Staff Reporters Silverstein and Simon.

"Lobbyist's Brother Guilded House Bill"

Hard to condense 8 pages into a few lines here, but it seems the Government was looking into and questioning how $20.8 million was received by clients of KSA Consulting, where "Kit" Murtha is a senior partner.

Try to pull up this article. Perhaps Jack M. was trying to deflect attention away from himself......by speaking out against the war.

Correction: Investigative work done by Taxpayers for Common Sense, a nonpartisan Washington watchdog group that tracks government spending. (Keith Ashdown)

I agree with all the democrats who want an early pullout. I can only wish all their fathers had done the same thing. /sarcasm

"That wasn't in the form of a question, it was in the form of a statement. But, uhh... let's go over here."

Another chapter for Dem Profiles in Anti-Courage. The miserable sod didn't even have the presence of mind or the decency to address the soldier's points. Not in the form of a question? This is LIFE, not Jeopardy!

Dems have no souls and no stature and stupid people still vote them into office.

You have hit a key point, here. Any reasonable person would have apologized for the oversight (letters) if for no other reason than to try to get votes. They apparently are so wrapped up in their agenda that they don't see themselves as having done any wrong.

No wonder they can stand there, year after year and lie straightfaced to people to get their vote.

Unreal.

This young man continues to serve his buddies, even if he isn't carrying a rifle. Commendable.

I agree with you. Hillary could be testing the waters with Murtha to figure out what is the real American position on the War on Terror.

They thought the lines were long in the last election to vote for Kerry; they virtually declared a preemptive victory based on turn out and got surprised.

Soros discovered in Ohio, without much MSM fanfare in November, that we do remember 9/11!

I can't believe this article "Lobbyist's Brother Guilded House Bill" from the LATimes of 6/13/05, hasn't received more attention.
