A 95-year-old war veteran in Britain died after being beaten by burglars whom he had resisted at his home near Stalham in Norfolk. Police said Ralph Platten, who had served with the Royal Air Force in North Africa during World War II, was pinned to the ground by the burglars who demanded to know where he kept his money, reports The Times of London. He suffered multiple injuries, including a broken hip, and later died in a hospital, the report said. Police believe the attackers probably knew him.

Thanks UK. Your asinine policy on guns shares some blame here. Just the perception that some homeowners might be armed could have made the punks try an empty house instead.
Prayers to his family and for the safety of others who don't enjoy a government which trusts citizens to protect themselves.

Hey libs? Is it okay if we execute these guys when we catch them? Or will Mike Farrell and Sean Penn be too outraged to let it go down within the next two decade?

What's just as bad is if had had a gun and shot one of the burglars they would have likely sent him to prison for it.
Britain has lost its way.

Amen. And what makes this more egregious is the fact that the elderly victim took up arms to serve his country at its most crucial time of need.

Damn, man puts his life on the line for all of us and some scumbag comes by and takes it all away? That ain't right, he deserved much better.

What horrible irony to have fought the Nazis during WWII and then be murdered by domestic punks.
Shame on GB for disarming it's citizens.

When my father was 82 he was in his church parking lot walking to his car when a young man started screaming at him in Spanish. My father turned around and the punk pulled a knife on him, knocked him to the ground, punched him in the face and took his wallet. I have a particular rage reserved for cowards who hurt the elderly or children.
The saddest thing is is that my father would have given that guy the money if he needed it just out of the kindness of his heart.

Google "Tony Martin".
His house/farm was repeatedly burglarized.
He caught two of them in the act one night and killed one with a shotgun.
Tony was conviced of murder and sent to prison for FIVE YEARS. When he got out, he found the surviving "yoot" to be suing him and living on government assistance.

He fights to make them free- to ensure their very existence in this world, and they kill him for some cash.
There's a special level of hell for these punks.

"..burglars whom he had resisted.."Oh, my God! I hope he didn't hurt the burglars! 'Cause if he did, they will sue his estate and get it all!
Nope, no sarcasm here.
