I lived in San Diego in the early 80's. Living in CA sucked in the 80's and it sucks even worse, today.

If you're a Conservative, what on Earth are you doing living there? I mean, I'm a Conservative, and I live in "Bluer Than Blue" Dane County, WI. At least I have an excuse; it's dern cold here and my car won't start to let me escape, LOL!

Just when I think life in my state is h#ll on Earth, I just face south-west and think of California. ;)

I've detected one pervasive misconception, that population expansion is somehow synonymous with economic growth. It is not. Consider places like India or Bangladesh that teem with humans but wallow in very low standards of living. California is being swamped with poorly educated third-world manual laborers. Just go there. They're up to the rafters. This bottom-tier social strata look good to greedy politicians who see them as easy pickin's for income tax rolls and cheap labor, but have an adverse affect on the social/educational/racial/cultural environment of California as part of the US not Mexico. If you want wall to wall Juarez and Hermosillo with lots of valid SSN's but with high crime/drug/homicide levels then California is going down the right road. Arnold is completely sidestepping the illegal alien issue. Free drugs for seniors? That's what's important?

The majority of people here want more spending. I haven't heard much in the way of a demand for spending cuts and smaller government. In California, everything simply grows bigger every year and there's no end in sight.
