The Rev. Pat Robertson said Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is being punished by God for dividing the Land of Israel. Robertson, speaking on the “700 Club” on Thursday, suggested Sharon, who is currently in an induced coma, and former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, assassinated by an Israeli extremist in 1995, were being treated with enmity by God for dividing Israel. “He was dividing God’s land,” Robertson said. “And I would say, Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the E.U., the United Nations or the United States of America. God says, This land belongs to me. You better leave it alone.”
What that you say Pat?
I'm not one to quote scripture much, but I classify Robertson as being a prime example of the subject of Matthew 7:15-16...
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
I contend that Mr. Robertson's 'fruits' are fame and fortune, garnered by selling sensationalized hype under the label of religious guidance.

Read the book of Job. All the typical mortal reasons for Jobs's problems and heartaches were ALL WRONG!
Also note this verse:
Isa.55:9
[9] For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
It may very well be that God is in the process of taking him home. We simply don't know. If youare famliar with prophecy, perhaps this is what he should be doing ... I simply don't know. I do know that this is NOT the time for Pat make ridiculous comments like this.
Also perhaps Pat is thinking of him as being a Judas ... we really don't know the mind of God. We have His teachings but on this kind of stuff, it's best to let it play out.
As my father has gotten older I've watched as he has become less patient and less reserved in his wording. Pat is definitely getting more strident with age as well.
Pat Robertson is a brick short of a load.

My mother was Pat's secretary for 14 years at CBN through much of the 80's into the 90's and have met Pat and watched the 700 club live many many times. While I admit he may have gone overboard in stating it as fact that this was a judgement of God on Sharon for dividing Gods promised land to the Jews, he is absolutely 100% correct saying that it's not to be divided.
The Bible is utterly irrelevant to this conversation. When one of your elderly relatives suffers a massive stroke, and some a**hole fellow church member starts ranting, "well she deserved it; God's punishing her for _______", nobody will go off checking their Bible to see if the arrogant yapper is "right".

Once again the good Reverend and I are in complete agreement. Sharon sucked as PM and I can only hope that Isreal can recover from his misgovernance.
That was fun! That's when he claimed God turned a hurricane around at his request. LOL! -- "Vote for me, 'cause God'll do what I tell him". Howie Dean can't hold a candle to Pat.
