"Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the E.U., the United Nations or the United States of America. God says, This land belongs to me. You better leave it alone.”

AMEN! I wish more Jews felt this way. He is damned right, although his timing, as usual, is lousy--with Sharon fighting for his life.

No problem. It took a little while before a site picked up the story and posted the clip. Later today, you'll see it picked up by lots of sites. Robertson does this kind of stuff all the time. I can't believe he has any followers any longer.

Does the Bible support his argument? I haven't seen a refutation of what he's saying. Just a bunch of whining from "offended" freepers.

Yeah, they get all bent out of shape because of Pat's bad timing. But he is DEAD RIGHT in his sentiments. Sharon had become a complete failure by continuing the "Land for Terror" suicide. Now, if he dies the Israeli Left will adopt him as a "martyr for peace" and give away Jerusalem to the filthy Muslims. Damned dirty Muslims have no business in the city of David and Jesus.

My guess is donations go way up when Pat says something like this. He'll have a lot to answer for in the afterlife, I'm sure.

Absolutely. For some reason God is now impotent when it comes to punishment, but active when rewarding people who win the lotto.

It's hard to see, but the bible supports punishment in this life even though a priest told me he doesn't. It's obviously some horrible criminals live to a ripe, old age and die in their beds. I can't speak for God.

Exactly WHEN did God say he wan't going to punish anybody?

A couple places, but in a different context; i.e., why punish the children for their parents' sins?

THis kind of religeon makes no sense. God is in control now unless something bad happens, then suddenly God is no longer at the wheel.

Sometimes it certainly appear that he is not in control. That's where faith has to kick in. The Evil One can be responsible for some good things happening to people, too, like winning the lottery, to entice them further into his clutches.

I guess it is wishful thinking on these RINOs part. They desperately want to think that they will never be punished no matter what they do or say.

It matters what we all do, say, and write, even hidden behind a screen name. But sometimes God seems to see some things differently than we do, mitigates/delays the punishment because of circumstances, etc.

Do I think that Sharon was punished by God? Hmm, maybe, that is God's business. Do I think God is sovereign? In control? The king of heaven and earth? YES. Do I think Sharon capitulated and kissed Islams ass by turning over GAZA? YES. By doing that do I think he worsened the predicament of the Jewish people, YES.

I know he did, but I don't have a right to judge him on that basis. I can have an opinion, express it. It could be that Sharon has lived an unhealthy lifestyle under a great amount of stress from all he has had to deal with. He may have had an inner conflict. A family situation can cause sufficient stress which is no fault of your own and you can land in the hospital just like he is.

Will I pray for him? No, not much. If any. Why? Because I do not know him. I would sooner pray for Bill Clinton or Michael Moore.

I do, but it's hard to with my whole heart, the first two. I forgot to pray for Michael Moore :-).

No, the Bible doesn't support his argument at all.

His argument is part of the dispensational premill eschatology, but has NO RESEMBLANCE AT ALL TO THE HISTORIC CHRISTIAN FAITH, only to certain nuts on the Christian right who believe in the nonsense like the second temple must be rebuilt, the antiChrist will come from Italy, etc.

Thank God (literally) he saved me from that nonsense.

He did not what? Say something idiotic, stupid, subhuman, unfeeling? When someone is in the hospital fighting for his life? Take any of these things and that is Pat Robertson!

see 105 above

She discussed how it was not at all what it apeared. She became depressed partly over the (my term, it may have been hers too) disillusionment of the "ministry" of CBN. I do not recall specifically if she used the term hypcorisy, but thats what it amounted to. I will try to find a link. I think she wrote a book about her experience.

When a old man under a lot of pressure has a stroke, divine retribution is pretty far down on the list of possible reasons.

If the topic weren't so serious it would be kinda funny, though . . . some old Christian guy in the U.S. lecturing the prime minister of Israel on maintaining Israel's borders in 2005 -- based on something written in the Old Testament more than 2,000 years ago.

Nope, the 1948 borders are smaller. Some study Bibles show the promised area of land, if you are interested.

Taken in context, Pat Robertson's comments are more benign than might be gleaned from the brief JTA excerpt.

Pat is saying Israel is being especially looked after by God, making sure a more Hawkish Israeli Prime Minister is put into power.

Certainly, Bibi Netanyahu has already announced that he intends to destroy Iran's nuclear arsenel and its planned destruction of Israel. . something Sharon has thus far refused to deal with.
