I am completely in favor of letting this bloke testify, to a grand jury, then at his trial and then on death row. I question how much damage he/she really did, but that is not the issue. Government employees have to know that they are taking a substantial risk when they leak to the media, no matter how serious the consquences, and the media has to know that they will be held accountable for the damage they inflict. This epidemic of leaking needs to stop and this means on both sides. If it takes criminal sanctions to bring this about, then so be it. Sometimes there is a greater good to be achieved in the public's not knowing. whether they throw soiled panties at an Qaeda big wig or use the Chinese water torture. It is really of little concern to any single American. Of much more concern is stopping the next potential attack which will do far more harm to our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness than any so called "atrocity" that occurs in Gitmo.

This is a war for our survival and if we chop up some bad guys to avoid attacks on our soil, I am all in favor. We've done the very same things in every war we fought since we became a republic. They didn't give Benedict Arnold a bible and allow him to pray three times a day. They gave him a noose and bid him on his way to his maker.

This is an information war, and if we are going to win it, we have to refine our methods for extracting it, and if it requires making the terrorist an offer that they can't refuse, then that is a small price to pay for our survival.

If it sounds like I am making a case for the end justifying the means, then you are correct. And this is a case where the ends truly do justify the means. If they have to make a terrorist into swiss cheese to stop an attack on our soil that will kill thousands, hundreds of thousands or millions of our fellow citizens, then there really isn't much of a decison to be made. I just pray that they keep that bastard alive long enough to get the info we need.

Whoever said that torture doesn't work obviously doesn't have kids. When they want something, they will use every psychological tool in their arsenal to get you to give in. They don't care about the goofy McCain anti-torture act. And we shouldn't either. If we had been more aggresive before 9-11 we wouldn't be in this situation now and there would be several thousand more of my neighbors around on Sundays, watching their kids' soccer games, seeing them go out on their first date or graduating from college. And that is the biggest crime of the political correctness insanity. It kills!

So to all you lefty's out there who really care about the al Qaeda bill of rights, please accept my fondest fu.

LOL!! That's why we never "ground" our kids - it's torture for us!
