Either way, his career is over. I agree with another article that this presages a generational turnover in Israeli politics. Like when the Brezhnev generation died out in the old Soviet Union (Brezhnev/Andropov/Chernenko). No way is his one-man-show political party going to survive without him. Nor am I going to assume that Netanyahu is an automatic shoo-in.

Face it, recent actions prove that the man had outlived his usefulness.

I strongly disagree with disengagement, but I don't wish Sharon death. Instead, I'm going to wish him a speedy, full recovery followed by a long and happy retirement.
