Apple has not offered a live streaming feed for their Macworld Keynote addresses for a number of years. One reader forwarded an email from Apple's Investor Relations which confirms that Apple will again not be providing a live feed for Macworld.
Thank you for your email. A replay will be available on http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mac.html, but there are no plans for live streaming.
Macworld San Francisco kicks off next week. Steve Jobs is scheduled to provide the keynote address at 9 AM Pacific on January 10th, 2006.
MacRumors, of course, will provide live coverage if at all possible. If you will be attending the Keynote, please email us to help.
Such disgust for a company that "doesn't matter". I'm thinking you are a bit scared, but can't come to grips with it.
Linux the ultimate windows service pack!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's expected? Intel-based Macs, maybe an early look at Leopard, the next Mac OS X?
Don't they know a cult can't live without hearing from its leader? ;)
Intel Macs, possibly a new iPod Nano, are expected.
People expecting a Leopard preview are ignorant. Jobs said at WWDC 2005 Leopard would be previewed at WWDC 2006, and be out in time to compete with Vista.
According to "displaced" future-seeing-googles:
MWSF conference hall. Steve's already shown the exterior of the iBook, and now turns to the demo unit hooked up to the giant screens...
"Now, let's show you what this thing's like. Let's start from a cold bootup..."
*Steve presses the power button*
Black screen. Then, instead of *daaaah!*, we hear a *beep*. Screen shows:
AWARD BIOS - Phoenix Technologies Ltd. Energy Star compliant
Apple iBook 2000MHz
... all in a glorious 8x8 pixel terminal font.
*audience gasps*... then..
*beep-beep*
No keyboard present. Press F1 to continue.
... audience stirrs ... anger building ... riot police around the edge of the hall get twitchy.
... then ...
Steve laughs hysterically for 5 minutes straight. Audience eventually falls silent waiting for Steve to stop.
Steve: "Oh, you guys! Man, winding you up is like shooting fish in a barrel! Mwahahaa! No, seriously... here's the new iBook"
Screen goes blank. Steve *really* presses the power button this time. Audience then get treated to a completely ordinary, totally expected OS X bootup sequence, albeit with a slightly different, yet infinitely cooler startup chime.
Audience cheers
