"The undeserved lovefest that the media gave Oklahoma has only been exceeded by that they have for USC."

You have GOT to be joking!

"I expect Nebraska and Oklahoma to be back in the Top 10 along with Texas before too long."

Thank you!

"I think that most Big-12 fans can agree that the Big-12 was very top heavy during Oklahoma's run - Nebraska was down as was Kansas State. Texas was very good and was really their only challenge."

No, I don't agree. We Sooners and Neb are always the targets of the other Big 12 teams--they try harder to beat us than the others, no matter where we're ranked.

The 2003 national champion was LSU. The Bowl Championship Series is a lousy system, but it's the system USC signed up for. You can't agree to play for a championship under one set of rules, then, when you don't win the championship, say, "Well, we won the championship under these other rules."

Unless you think the accountants at Enron were straight shooters.

I don't know about your Aggie friends--that probably was their incentive, but I was cheering AGAINST the Trojans as much as FOR my conference. Boomer Sooner.

No offense to Oklahoma, but they did enjoy a very large media lovefest during their run. The number times that the media proclaimed that "this Oklahoma team is the best team of all time" became sickening. Oklahoma also remained in the top two even after being blown out in their conference championship game.

I can't believe it. Texas won.

You coulda' knocked me over with a feather. I turned off the game when I left work - there was a good ten minutes left. I pretty much shrugged and said the heck with it, and figured out that USC would win. And if'n it ain't something - I woke up to see that Texas won...

"The year that Oklahoma beat FSU for the title, I felt that Miami was the best team in the country, but that doesn't change the fact that Oklahoma won the BCS and are therefore national champions."

Ah, now I get it.

Nebraska, Kansas State and Texas A&M were very much down during the Oklahoma run. Colorado was also not as good as they had been. Oklahoma State wasn't very good during that time either.

Of course conference games can always come up and bite you, but when teams are weaker than they usually are the chances of getting knocked off are a lot smaller.

If Nebraska and A&M make it back to their normal strength then I'd put the Big-12 up with anyone.

What do you mean? Miami would have replaced FSU in the championship game, not Oklahoma. I think that Miami would have beaten Oklahoma, but Miami signed onto the system and had to live with the results.

No, Oklahoma was very much UP during OUr run. And it was nice to have finally seen parity. We welcomed it. Gotta run now.

Oh it didn't approach near the level of the USC lovefest. I heard many, many times that Oklahoma was the best team ever and had the most talent of any team ever assembled.

This talk reached its peak just before the Big-12 championship game which they lost. They still remained in the top 2 however.

Vince Young played some pretty impressive football last night. That's a great photo of the young man. Thanks for posting.

As a Pennsylvania resident and PSU grad, I'm glad to see my neighboring states also had winning football teams this season: WVU and Ohio State. There's a lot of alumni from those two universities in western PA. Way to go, guys!
