On January 4, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. (PST) the Rose Bowl Game will host the BCS National Championship, between USC and Texas once again showcasing the best of collegiate football in "The Granddaddy of Them All."® The Rose Bowl will be broadcast exclusively on ABC and on ESPN radio.
LOL - we probably agree that the Alabama offensive was terrible after Prothro was injured too.
New Orleans.... else Los Angeles. NFL told Benson point blank either he stays in New Orleans or someone else brings the Saints to LA. San Antonio is peanuts to the NFL... so is Benson.
It did, indeed. Texas is a big state, though; plenty of good players to fill both our rosters.
Since when do they call a puch down late hit on a QB in college football? Did you watch the Louisville game the other day? Man that dide had a broken nose and keep getting drilled after he threw the ball and they never called any latehits!
We won we won.
I agree - Matt Jones converted from QB to WR would be an exception.
I to think that the Reggie Bush talk is going in the wrong direction. Bush is going #1 unless a big trade is arranged. Lienart would have been #1 last year but probably #2 this year - maybe as low as #5.
And yes I saw a face mask on that play. A similar one was called against Texas.
I think it's awesome that the smaller schools are starting to kick butt again. Look how Tulsa and TCU ended up.
Sometimes it's not the blue chips that make the difference
did you miss the interception that Texas got but was called incomplete, when it clearly was caught?.....didn't think so....
USC has been the beneficiary of so many calls and non calls....
we're Wazzu fans.....3 yrs ago, USC's guy actually jumped over the line before the ball was hiked, made the center fumble it, and the USC guy recovered it.....and the refs let them get away with it!!!!
same game, Leinhart fumbled the ball clearly, our guy picked it up very near our goal.....you guessed it....USC got the call.....
maybe USC was due to have a missed call......
Sorry about that....here ya go: http://thetigernet.com/
It's pretty good, but I also pay for a membership to tigerillustrated.com, which is great for recruiting and some inside stuff.
And yes, this year, Bama couldn't have scored in a Texas whorehouse.
Shame about Prothro. Some people with that injury never even walk properly again.
The DH Special is purty good too. With jalapenos.
All craziness breaking out in Pasadena.....fan threatened female D.A. in the parking lot, and a helo just made an emergency landing somewhere in the city.
even if Yound would have been ruled down it would have been 1st and goal. big deal be would have scored on the next play.
Every single national championship (include tonight for my Texas Longhorns) is a freakin' mythical one. It is a ridiculous game between 2 subjectively selected beauty contest winners. 1 game does not make a playoff, so no team ever wins it on the field. It is the sorry BS that is the system right now.
IMHO it is only 50-50 that both USC and Texas would win out to meet in the championship game if there was an 8 or more team playoff. Only 2 of the favorites in the last 7 mythical nat'l championship game have won, which tells us all we need to know about the accuracy of the polls. If they can predict the winner of a single game only 2 out of 7 tries, then odds are that they are usually going to screw up assessing who are the 2 best teams each year.
The system is a joke, and tonight's mythical nat'l championship is just as phony as all the previous ones. Until there is a playoff, its all just figure skating.
With Alabama's offensive I don't disagree. Give Alabama a decent offense (let's say one like Penn State or Ohio State) and the game would be very close.
Remember in 1992, Bama had a mediocre but decent offense and a great defense. Bama was huge underdogs to Miami and many thought they would be beaten by 5 touchdowns as well. Bama won in a rout.
Again, I have no delusions about Alabama's overall team - they are about a #10 team. The only reason they are even is in the top 20 is because of their defense.
I was a little miffed that it wasn't 15 yards. Unintentional face mask, my eye -- that guy was going for the throat!
Oh noooooooo. Not tonight. :(
i thought it was called correctly, he grabbed it but he didnt twist it, personal foul is "grabbing and twisting" I thought they got it right. They had a similar all against Texas earlier in the game.
