Scott Thomas update: mom's guardianship continued!
Scott's fight website ^ | 1/3/06 | Pamela Patton

Pamela's guardianship renewed for another six months!  Please see "Scott's News" for more information. (continued at link)

http://scottsfight.com/Scott's%20News.htm

January 3, 2006

Today was the long-anticipated status hearing on guardianship for Scott.

The hearing took place in judge's chambers with Pamela and her attorneys and Eliza and her attorneys.  Pamela presented the judge with information that she has now filed with the court to have Scott declared "partially capacitated".  This means, at the very least, that he would then be allowed to indicate his preferences for his social environment, such as who is allowed to visit.  He has repeatedly indicated that he does not want to see Eliza, but he does wants to see his son.

Pamela also informed the judge that, after Scott is legally determined to be "partially capacitated",  they would be filing for a divorce for him.  [emphasis mine]

Eliza indicated to the judge that she would fight any divorce proceedings.

The final item that Pamela presented to the judge is that Scott is scheduled for surgery to close his tracheotomy opening, which should allow him to regain his ability to speak and make sound.

Based on all the above information, Judge Wilkes ruled to grant Pamela another six months of full guardianship of Scott.  This will be a crucial time for Pamela and Scott, as they continue to work, not only for Scott's recovery, but for him to regain the right and ability to truly "speak for himself".

Please continue to join us in prayer and other support for Scott and Pamela as they continue the battle for LIFE.

I am not likely to quote the New York Times very often, but sometimes, quotables make it into print, here, the economic pros and cons of bumping off the innocents.

Both ventilator and feeding tube. He has had both since this past weekend. He is semiconscious and has supposedly told his family that he does not want to live "that way." Doctors told the family that he could live from two days to two weeks. I cannot imagine why that family did not turn off the ventilator ONLY. I don't know how much the estate is worth. CO is one of those states that believes in the "right to die."

Interesting. Except, of course, for calling Terri "comatose" (another example of the power of the press to spread evil lies). But he does make a decent case that morality and economics are allied and not at odds. He is correct in citing Adam Smith who is rightly famous for pioneering free market economics but who was actually a professor of moral philosophy.

Other Orwellian thinking is with the Haleigh Poutre case where the news is filled with references as "right to die". Haleigh must have been exercising her right to die. Maybe she doesn't have a "right to live." I never hear in death penalty cases where the killer about to fry is considered exercising his "right to die."

With Haleigh, now, is the news that she started improving. I tried linking back to the article I posted earlier and found it now requires registration, Boston.com/Boston Globe. Am curious what will happen to this news, so bound to distress the media.

Interesting last name, Poutre, which in French means a solid beam support beam as you would find in a house.

Clarence Ray Allen was executed this week by California. "Mr." Allen, as the left-wing presstitutes called him respectfully, was 76 years old and legally blind, had serious heart conditions, and needed a wheel chair. He had no hope of recovery and his medical care and housing were a considerable cost to taxpayers. He was, in short, an ideal candidate for euthanasia.

Except for one thing. He was a serial killer. When it comes to mass murderers, the euthanasia activists forget all their preaching and suddenly turn into pro-lifers.

Go figure.

"A suspiciously short time later (I'm thinking a week) she died at Michael's house"

He didn't put her in that wonderful hospice. She would have been right at home, knew the staff and everything.
She was Terri's guard at one time wasn't she?

>> Perhaps she's discretely informed Michael that in the event of her untimely death, a certain envelope might mysteriously make its way to the police.

If she has the brains to do that, what hasn't she gotten the heck away from Michael Schiavo? The lady must be stupider than concrete pavement.

And while we're on the subject, if she is withholding information that he committed one or more crimes, she is a criminal too.

Reporters cannot tell the difference between the "right to die" and beating a child nearly to death with a baseball bat.

Haleigh Poutre is gorgeous. Pray that she will recover. The Massachusetts Dept. of Social Services seems eager to end her life.

"On Wednesday afternoon, however, doctors told the social services agency that Haleigh's condition had changed, Monteiro told the Boston Globe in its Thursday editions. She said Haleigh was breathing on her own and the agency had no immediate plans to remove her feeding tube."

Message from Terri's family:

Dear Faithful and Supportive Friends,

No words can adequately express how grateful we are to every one of you who fought so valiantly to help us try and save the life of our dear daughter and sister, Terri. Please accept our most heartfelt thanks for your support, prayers, and acts of kindness for Terri and our family. We have received tens of thousands of condolence messages, letters, cards and e-mails from all over the world. We are forever grateful to you.

As a family we are still grieving our great loss. Since Terri’s death, we have decided to carry her legacy of life and love forward so her sacrifice will not have been in vain and others may avoid the same terrible fate.

The Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation (TSSF) has been restructured as a 501(c)(3) tax–exempt organization. We have opened a modest TSSF office in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Our family, Bob Sr., Mary, Bobby and Suzanne, are all working full-time for the Foundation which will advocate for persons in danger of being killed because they have been deemed “unworthy of life.” We invite you to visit the brand new TSSF website, at www.terrisfight.org. As you browse the site, keep in mind that we value your comments and we would request that you register to subscribe to our forthcoming e-mail newsletters. For those of you desiring to support the cause financially, a secure online donation page is included in our site.

The website also reflects recent information about Terri’s life and death, links to helpful and relevant sources for assistance in the support of life cause, as well as information and reports about how and where we are working to tell Terri’s story and to spread the word about the vital importance and value of human life.

As its mission grows, the Foundation will need the continued support of many individuals willing to give their time and talents. Please consider joining us in this all-important effort to defend human life.

Please contact us using the following information:

I pray that Haleigh will continue to improve. Let them charge the stepfather with attempted murder for now, and if she dies on her own, then charge him with murder. She should be given the opportunity to improve.

The ventilator is one thing, the feeding tube, IMHO, is totally another. It sounds like this is not the same kind of feeding tube that Terri had. The one Terri had was a port that was surgically inserted. This might be the kind that is inserted through the throat to the stomach. Perhaps the family intends to hand deliver food and water to him, we can only hope and pray. I will pray that the family not dehydrate and starve him to death. That would be cruel and is not dignified in any way, shape, or form.

Tears flowed when I read that. I love the Schindlers.

The way they have handled this reminds me somewhat of how John Walsh and his family dealt with Adam's murder. They, too, turned it into something positive, and many laws have been changed because of what they went through. I pray the Schindlers will have the same type of influence.

Yes. I think that was during the previous attempt to starve and dehydrate Terri to death. So Jodi's mother knew first hand what kind of treatment she was in for.

Doesn't the Constitution grant everyone the right to be beaten to death with a baseball bat, or starved and dehydrated to death, or tortured to death in whatever manner their enemies choose? /sarcasm

No human being would want those things done to them. That's why the death cult has to dehumanize disabled people. If Terri Schiavo was human, she wouldn't have wanted to be tortured to death. But if you can believe she was a vegetable, you can believe anything.
