As long as it's a Republican doing it why do I care!

I'm glad someone else is thinking of the future and not just the here and now. Most of the hard core Bushbots simply don't realise that GW will not be in office forever, and if , God forbid, a Democrat like Hillary takes office, the same people that were all for Big Brother having his way with the common folk will be screaming of the injustice.

I say we have a 3 branch system that's worked for over 200 years, why tamper with success?

What you and ProdigalSon are failing to understand is that DemRats like Hillary wouldn't bother with little things like LAWS and the constitution ANYway, so why even worry about that? We already know that for a fact from their past 8-yr history in office and little things like almost a thousand FBI files on their opposition which they obtained illegally, using the IRS to harass their political opponents, selling our military missle technology to the commies, and sending in jack-booted thugs to wipe out whole families.

If Bush fails to protect this country from another attack, the lefties will be back in power as soon as the next election occurs ANYway (and probably even sooner if they managed to finally get their Impeachment Wish). We have to worry about the here and now because if we don't survive the here and now, there won't BE anything else to worry about for our future. And that is exactly what Bush is doing and has been doing. Taking care of the present, here and now.

If that philosophy makes me a Bushbot in your eyes, I'll take that hit. And GLADLY so.

I agree. The President always has and always will be able to secretly intercept foreign calls to you or anyone else if you're talking to, financially aiding or helping foreign enemies endanger, threaten or take American lives.

So you think that G.W. is the first President ever to do this?

Indeed. People around here seemed a lot clearer on the concept that this country has a President, not a King, prior to 20 January 2001....

Have you completely forgotten what Billary did when they were in the WH? No law is going to change anything that Billary will do again if they once again reside in the WH - they will break any law they feel is necessary. This is the Lib way - the NYT not only has a right, but an obligation, to tell the American citizen all the Government secrets so that Bush can be removed because we no longer have separation of powers. Pubbies have all three (er, I mean two) branches of Govenerment. That allows the libs to do anything they want and break any law they want in order to restore balance to the separation of powers arrangement.

I'm as far from a Bushbot as there is but anyone who believes that terrorists deserve protection, especially during war or open conflict, are nuts.

The BoR clearly authorizes REASONABLE searches and seizures without warrant.

Tapping overseas calls by known foreign agents seems pretty resonsble to me.

Don't you agree?

What is being tampered?

The Constitution gives the President authority to do this.
