Me, too. When I read comments by him I think of my much older brother who was in the Korean Conflict. He said that he would go to Iraq if he were much younger. One believes in his country, the other does not.
I would rejoin and go to Iraq if they would take me, however, 63 yos don't seem to be a priority on their lists! Murtha is a scumbag and a disgrace to the name Marine. I was in the Army but my uncle, god rest his soul, was a captain in the Marines in WWII. Would never talk about his war stories except to say he got malaria and several other diseases and was discharged for it in late 1943. He chafed at the bit that he couldn't go back in. He was the main reason I joined the service but the Marines turned me down(I was too small)so I joined the army. God bless America, and f**k the liberals.
I know of a Vietnam Vet, who used to be a customer of mine, who not only said he'd be willing to go fight in Iraq, but he drove to the recruiting center with his fellow former Marines on their Harleys.
They went in 20+ strong, but were turned back because of being passed the legal age.
His wife just shook her head and said, "he's dead serious."
