Had an alternative to the blacked eyed. Missus made a wonderful soup with navy beans and collards. Chicken broth with various veggies for the base. With left over pork roast and morning sausage.

I did the absolute best rack of baby backs I have ever done yesterday. Sold on the dry rub.

Sure nice to be a monthly. I get to open all these threads without guilt. BTW, I agree that our NASCAR bunch are good supporters.

Black eyes are nearing completion

What is it about black eye peas??

I have to make them for Mr. Mo1

I have to eat at least one ... I'm told it's mandatory

Mama grew Black eyed peas and made the BEST BEPs with shelled and green snap stage with Bacon. She made it with ham hocks also but my favorite was bacon.

Do you buy fresh or canned BEPs?

Thank you. I appreciate that more than you'll know!

I'm supposed to spend tomorrow with the grandkids. I planned to take my cheesy potato soup with me but I can't stand up long enough to go finish the fixin's. I fixed the chicken in the pressure cooker last night -- for the chicken and broth. I also use ham, bacon, cheddar cheese, and heavy cream in it. (Seemed like it'd be a good-before-the-low-carb-begins meal.) ;)

"This may be the first time New Hampshire has been in the top four."

New Hampshire: "Live Free or Die"

Where Judge Souter's real estate properties (Weare and better land near Lebanon) are destined for commercial "eminent domain" in accordance with the Supreme Court decision. So many flags displayed in Weare must be a strong message to Souter!
