Sorry, Howlin Mad ... now it is your turn to say something stupid.I do not have a problem at all ... I actually did something constructive about the mess that is New Orleans and Louisiana ... I got out nearly 20 years ago and never went back.
The "mess" was not created solely by the people in Louisiana and New Orleans ... the federal government/welfare society played a dominant role in creating the problem.
Frankly, no one want[s] "the malcontents and criminals" [a failed federal welfare system] created in [their] backyard either. But ... they have to be somewhere ... and all of y'all who do not want to see New Orleans rebuilt ... cannot have it both ways ... either rebuild New Orleans to warehouse the "malcontents and criminals" there ... or you get to have them in YOUR backyard.
As for me, personally, I do not have a NIMBY problem. I live on a farm now ... and my "backyard" is big enough that I have NO neighbors! So ... it is not ME I am concerned about!
None of that keeps me from being kindly disposed toward family and friends, and even strangers, that I left behind.
