Another hot ticket was Odeon Films and B.C. PWAs premiere screening of Brokeback Mountain. B.C. Persons With AIDS Society chair Paul Lewand welcomed a full house to the benefit showing. The epic American love story from Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ang Lee, based on the short story by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annie Proulx, had the Fifth Avenue Cinema audience all hot and buttered. More bothered than buttered, Lewand is also currently embroiled in a dispute (along with artist Tiko Kerr and gay priest Michael Forshaw) with Health Canada to have compassionate access to the experimental HIV drugs TMC 114 and TMC 125.

Yeah, a "full house" of three-dollar bills.
had the Fifth Avenue Cinema audience all hot and buttered.
More information than I need to know.
It figures. Hot in Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto. Let's see how it plays in gravy and fries country.
In that case it'll be playing to "full houses" of crickets.

Gone with the Wind? Only if one of the leads passes gas in the pup tent scene...

From butt pirates to gay cowboys.
Yeah, but in this version Richard Simmons is playing Rhett Butler and Scarlet O'Hara, Emo Phillips.
Figgers.
Yeah, a "full house" of three-dollar bills.
There we go, bustin' on the three dollar bill again......:-)
Like the scene in Blazing Saddles? lol
Projectile double bagger alert.
I know I'm hopelessly un-hip, but "compassionate access" is a new one on me (especially in this context).
"Oh, Ahhhhhhhh'm a lumberjack and I'm okay,
"I sleep all night and I work all day."
"Oh, heeeeeeee's a lumberjack and he's okay,
"He sleeps all night and he works all day."
People will do along with nearly anything if you tell them it's for free. And why is this lunacy a "hot ticket" if it's shown as a benefit?
The inside of those theaters probably look like a Village People's convention.
I have personal experience with the Vancouver PWA.
They are the perfect example of the gay mafia. Members of the PWA are presently engaged in a campaign to get me evicted from my Coop.
