Ground Zero bigshot John Whitehead, who has charged that he was threatened by state Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, broke a week of silence last night and angrily denounced Spitzer as a liar.
Interviewed by The Post outside his Manhattan offices, Whitehead ripped Spitzer after learning the attorney general and Democratic candidate for governor had publicly insisted earlier in the day that he never made any such threats.
"He said every word of it," Whitehead, chairman of the Lower Manhattan Development Corp., firmly told The Post last night.
"I'm angry that he is denying that he said it, because he knows he said it."
Whitehead added, "I stand by my comments."
Whitehead, a former head of Goldman Sachs and one of the most respected figures on Wall Street, has been a top fund-raiser for Republicans. He said he was shaken at the time of the alleged threat that Spitzer was coming after him — and he remains rattled to this day.

I'm starting to like his potential rival in the primary, Tom Souzza (sp?). Anyway, too bad King George pi$$ed 12 years away not building the Republican party in this state.

Tromped on my hooter again, twice.
First by thinking that Pataki was saying Spitzer was telling the truth, then by saying Whitehead was a demonrat instead of Spitzer.
Thinking too much about my lip being immensely swollen after yesterday's root canal instead of watching what I'm reading and saying. At least, that's my story, and I'm stuck with it.

Root Canal?....ouch!!! My sympathies are with you. Spitzer is a loud-mouthed jerk and a bully too. He cajoles, threatens, and uses the office he is in to further his political career! In other words, the dude is a NEW YORK P.O.S., just like the other demorats from New York!! (re: Schumer & Hildebeast) I hope they impeach this jerk and throw his a$$ out!! He is nothing but bad news.
I totally concur about Spitzer. I hope this is the beginning of his downfall.
I don't think Spitzer had anything to do with the Martha Stewart case.
Pretty sure that was federal.
That said, Spitzer makes everyone nervous, including his fellow dems.
Hillary and Schumer are trying to recruit the kid from Nassau County to run for Governor against Spitzer.
He is bad news.
Chucky and Hitlery are trying to get someone to run against him in the dem primary.
Alot of dems are worried about Spitzer, his ego is out of control, and he is very dangerious to everybody and anybody......he also doesn't play well with anyone including his fellow dems.

Oh, I'm just being a big baby. Actually, it wasn't bad at all.
The dentists I go to here in Japan are *so* much more considerate of their patients than American dentists. I've had several root canals here, and they have all been virtually painless -- except for the time I got a young guy who tried to use anaesthetic and do things the American way. I think he'd been contaminated by military base dentists.
Until I came here, the image I had of dentists was about like the Steve Martin role in the Rick Moranis version of "Little Shop of Horrors." (If you haven't seen it, do.) Sadistic pain vampires who can only be satisfied by the howls of their victims.
That's the main thing that I am worried about in returning to the states.
