Surely a sandwich would need bread of some form what I described is only meat, and salad ingredients, you can have mayo or salad cream but you would not mix up all together.

Basically I suppose what I mean is sliced cold meat with a side green salad.

Egg salad is the same as above but with hard boiled eggs sliced or cut in half. Egg mayonnaise is chopped up egg mixed with mayonnaise or salad cream.

Churchill had it right about our language.

YUP! He sure did.

I've had English Egg Mayonnaise at an English Tea Shop in California, and as you say, it's chopped up egg with mayo. So, that leads to this question: Do you ever have ham (with fat removed) chopped up and mixed with mayo? On bread or crackers, of course.
