I have a friend whose mother died a few days before Christmas and fortunately they managed to get the funeral in the day before Christmas Eve. It was sad but I was glad for the family that it was not hanging over them over Christmas and they could look forward to Christmas of family togetherness and peace if not the usual joyous time.

I am certain that your minister got some comfort from that as well. Hard for him as being a Minister as well especially this time of the year.

God Bless their family.

Thank you. It was hard for them. She was young, only 68, which is young these days. My husband went with him to the funeral home to help him with the arrangements. They did not have plots or any plans for this type thing. We don't either.....something we should sit down to do.
She was well loved. She had over 1,000 attend the funeral and with it being Christmas eve day that speaks volumes of her character.
I guess I had better go and get ready for church. I am running slowly this morning. Can't seem to get moving. :) Must be the new year. :)
