Canadian PM Blames U.S. for 'His Country's Crime Problem,' Gun Group Says

(CNSNews.com) - A gun rights group Thursday blasted Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin for accusing the U.S. of "exporting violence."

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) said Martin is treating the United States like a scapegoat for his failed leadership and for crimes committed by Canadian citizens.

"On the same day that Prime Minister Martin was blaming the United States for his country's crime problem," said CCRKBA Executive Director Joe Waldron, "CNN reported on a border arrest of two Canadian residents who were detained for trying to re-enter the country with handguns and ammunition concealed on their bodies.

"Ali Dirie and Yasin Mohamed are not Irish Americans from Boston, but residents of Toronto, apparently trying to import guns illegally," Waldron said in a press release. He warned that Martin's plan to ban guns will only succeed in driving up demand for weapons on the black market.

"And now that Mr. Martin has announced his plan to ban handguns in Canada, black market gun running is liable to take off just the same as illegal export of Canadian liquor into the United States during Prohibition, and with just as much success for the criminal underground in both countries," Waldron said.

Waldron said not only have Canadian handgun sales already gone up ahead of the gun ban according to wire reports, but law-abiding citizens, not criminals, will suffer as a result.

"What Martin and other Liberals in Canada don't seem to grasp, or maybe they just don't care, is that a ban is only going to take guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens. Criminals will still get guns, and Martin will continue blaming the United States for his administration's monumental failure to address a growing crime problem," Waldron said.

"Isn't it curious that crime has been climbing in Canada at the same time the Liberal government under Martin and his predecessor has been squandering billions of dollars on the gun registration fiasco," said Waldron.

"Martin and his Liberal cronies may not want to admit it, but gun rights activists down here in the states predicted this would happen from the outset. Canadian gun owners forecast the same thing, insisting that registering their guns would not prevent violent crime," Waldron said.

"Turns out gun owners were right, and all Martin can think of is taking further sanctions against his law-abiding citizens while doing nothing to actually reduce crime," added Waldron. "It's all flash, and no substance.

"The Prime Minister has no real solution to crime, so he blames honest gun owners and his good neighbor to the south for his government's failures," Waldron concluded.

Well, I guess Canada can join al-queda, the rest of the arabs, Iran, Saudi Arabia, N. Korea, Mexico, Europe, China, and Africa in finding the USA as the root cause of their failures.

Well, then maybe we should lock down the northern border, too, if it bugs him so much. At least it would help us keep undesireds from sneaking in from up there.

Thanks to Canada's immigration policies, plenty of Islamists transfered legally and illegally to the US. Some with the intent of mass murder.

I conducted millions of dollars of business with the Canadians when I was in commercial industry. Today... based upon what I am seeing; never again. The Canadians appear, in my mind's eye, as cowards. They do not seem to be accountable for their welfare. If I were W, I'd pull NORAD off the radar screen with the exception of our own national defense. Quite frankly, I'd pull every military base out of every semi-civilized (being polite) country and let these savages fend for their own sovereignty.I'd like to know where my $64k a year in taxes are going.

This excuse is the coordinated effort of the lefties now - all of a sudden the growing crime problems in their area are caused by gun laws in OTHER jurisdictions...

This week we had the Boston PD blame their rising crime on gun laws in New Hampshire and Maine. This is a trial balloon to see if the media will run with this absurd idea. If it gets traction then we can eext expect lawsuits from the blue cities against the states with decent gun laws.

We are right to go after this aggressively - Throw their own failures right back at them...

They just will not accept the fact that criminals will find guns no matter what the gun laws are. How they come to the conclusion that disarming the law-abiding population will help lower gun related crime is a real head scratcher.

Well, the libs believe that the criminals are in fact VICTIMS, of social failures or whatever. Don't you ever THINK of further victimizing these poor souls by defending yourself against their attacks.

Plus, as far as a lib is concerned - the dopeheads, thieves and other ne'er-do-wells are VOTERS.

Great picture of Pauly. That's what he's going to look like after he loses the election and the Librano crime family is no longer in power. Just like the Democrats, when the Libranos don't win, they don't eat. Not winning means Pauly will have let the family down. And when that happens, the boys will have to take him for a ride ...

Canadian PM Blames U.S. for 'His Country's Crime Problem,

He may be right. Because of the death penalty, concealed carry liberalization and increased firearms ownership by law abiding Americans in general, the violent crime rates have dropped so much in the US that criminals are having to go to Canada to practice their trade.
