Prayers for your hubby, LucyJo. One word of caution...(I hated when this happened!).... do NOT bring up the *subject* while he's in withdrawl.

It seemed like every time I turned around someone would ask me how I was doing. Inside my brain - thousands of times every day - I was telling myself, "You CAN do it! You DON'T want a smoke! Concentrate on something ELSE!!"

About that time, some kind thoughtful person asked me HOW WAS I DOING WITHOUT MY CIGS and brought the whole subject up again, LOL!

LOL! I think our experience was pretty much the same.

Yes, the craving goes away, eventually....but it was the hardest thing I have ever done. But it is the one thing that I've done in life that I am most proud of (outside of raising my son...and doing a darned good job of it. LOL).

Just read your posts aloud to hubby. We laughed, Humidston, because I'm just the kind, thoughtful person who would be asking him how he's doing. LOL. I'll follow your advice! Thank you for the prayers. They are very much appreciated.

Thanks, tet68, we've talked about spending the money on our fishing trips instead of cigarettes. We both love to fish.

I can relate to what your brother said about the sofa. I have to wash the walls, blinds, and curtains in his bathroom more frequently because of the smoke and nicotine. Nasty!

He believes he can do it. A friend of his just quit using Commit Lozenges, so I guess he'll try those, but he knows the real strength comes from self-determination, faith and prayer.
