I swore off men for at least a year. I know how you feel. HA! That is EXACTLY how I started! Best decision I ever made! THE BEST! I had spent so much of my life being a chamelian.....if my man liked NASCAR, I liked NASCAR, if he liked Hot Rods, I liked Hot Rods, if he like the Packers, I liked the Packers....... once the year was up-- I realized i was okay... I was really okay-- I wasn't dying of loneliness anymore... I had gotten on with my life.... then I decided I had to wait until my dicorce was final....the only respectable Christian thing to do.... then I didn't care.... then I started to finally FIND ME! What I LIKE... what I am all about...MY PASSIONS....MY GOALS.....MY DREAMS.... amazing..... I don't want to have to give up me now...... I like being me.... I am not perfect... by any means... I am so full of flaws! SO FULL OF FLAWS! But I don't want to hang up my dreams... If I need to take off to Florida for a weekend to protest, or head to the capitol i Atlanta for a week to lobby--- I don't want someone using the excuse of "worrying" about me to stop me or keep me from doing it.... It would take a strong man to put up with me... but at least I am honest about it..

I totally understand. Sounds similar to what I went through. Relationships take a delicate balance of give and take with not one giving or taking more than the other. Also very risky, as in like a gamble. It is a game of chance. Also funny how you can date someone for a few years and you really don't know that person UNTIL you live WITH them...married and not just cohabitating. And then you realize just how much longer a lifetime is then you realized. I am happily married now, but have taken many notes on the ups and downs of many relationships, including my own.
