We care.
I resolve to lose weight, beat my rhumatoid arthritus, and be an even better husband and dad.
Yes. Pray ... to ooops gGod.
Good luck. The years will pass quickly ... even though it will seem they will never end. And, suddenly, those teenagers are adults ... and you wonder where all the "good" times went.
Thanks for the ping.
I quit smoking 197 days ago and have been nicotine free 144 days. It wasn't easy but it was worth it. I was smoking almost 3 packs a day and coughing all night long. I also managed to quit with no weight gain, so if the fear of gaining weight is holding anyone back, know that not everyone gains weight when they quit.
I went to an Advanced Medical Stop Smoking Center. The treatment is based on a patented process using FDA approved medications to eliminate physical withdrawal symptoms. It worked well for me.
Midnight just passed here in Bangkok. Happy New Years to everyone!
Yes. My German Yankee wife introduced that to me - with apple sauce. Of course, I straghtened her out on the War of Northern Aggresion and broadened her tastes. Can you belive she was in her 30's and had never seen "Casablanca" or "Gone With the Wind" or had never heard of Ralph Stanley?
She is just about up to speed on the vital thing of life. Truth told, she straightened me out a lot more than I did her.
Today is our 17th anniversary, w/o a doubt the best 17 of my life.
Happy New Year Freepers. Let's all resolve to be better posters. To count to ten twice when angry, before posting. To be quick to apologize whe we go over the top. And to keep the heat on our public servants and media.
And to drop some $$ on the next Freepathon.

I hate y'all that can call me a n00bie!
Happy New Year!!
This year saw a tragic death in our family. Maybe some of you remember I posted in July that our DIL was killed in an accident in which our son was driving. 35 yrs old and been married 2 months. So this NY Eve brings bittersweet memories. There is always hope in a new year.
Mmmmmmm, sounds delicious. Happy Eating! :)
New Year Resolutions:
Quit smoking after I started smoking again after 5 years when my heart got broken - $40 a month in nicotine patches.
Lose the 40 pounds I gained after my heart got broken - $50 more a month in groceries on healthy foods.
Go back to the gym 4 to 5 times a week because I stopped going because the jerk that broke my heart belongs to the same gym - $50 per month on membership at a new gym.
Realize that I am a much better person without the jerk that broke my heart priceless!
Oh yeah...I slice up one apple and one small potato to cook along with the meal. I brown my pork loin first in some bacon grease, then put it in the oven and after about half hour I add the sauerkraut with the potato, apple and just let it all bake and brown and absorb all the flavors from everything. Nothing like mixing your golden brown sauerkraut with your buttery mashed potatoes. Mmmmmm, good. ha,ha.
Bon appetite!
If youll pardon my french L0L

:Pour Virgin Olive Oil on serving dish (enough to cover entire dish or plate).
:Chop up Roma style tomatoes and place on top of olive oil
:Chop up 1 med to large SWEET onion and put on top of tomato.
:Generously sprinkle crumbled feta cheese on top of onion.
:VERY generously sprinkle garlic POWDER (not salt) on top of feta.
:VERY generously sprinkle Emeril's Italian Seasoning on top of garlic powder.
This is a very nice looking appetizer that can be served with nacho chips or crackers. I am telling you it is delicious!
LOVED your story about your hubby and the kraut. :) That was cute.
I like to lightly brown my pork loin in bacon grease in a fry pan first. Then I move it to a baking dish and put it in the oven. About a half hour later I put in the sauerkraut which I place one cut up potato and one cut up apple and then let it all cook nice and slow for a few hours. The pork flavor melds with the sauerkraut and the sauerkraut with the bacon flavor melds with the pork and the reunion of both is awesome. When done the sauerkraut is golden and soooo delicious. Not sour. I failed to mention to someone else who asked about this also and that is I add BEER to the kraut in the baking pan. Adds a nice flavor as well.
Then mashed potatoes with lots of butter, applesauce on the side and that's our dinner. Four items. Pork, Sauerkraut, Mashed potatoes and applesauce. I love and have used Kuner canned sauerkraut for years and years and years. Don't know what my mother used all we knew was that it was good and it started off our New Year with the whole family around the big old dining room table in our big old house. :) It sure conjurs up memories of great loving parents and the happy times they made for me, my brother and sisters.
May the New Year bring you and yours all that is good and decent.
:) Me too! Daughter is fixing it tomorrow for all of us. :)
Mangiare! Mangiare!! Eat...eat!!!
