A predictable attempt to call a leaker a "Whistleblower", but I dont think you will find that definition here.

Anyone who wants a good laugh, should check out the panic going on at Kos, DU and the NY Times today.

DU - what an unfortunate acronym.

I'll bet the DUmp/antfarm is in a tizzy over all this stuff, I'll have to check it out this weekend.

Is this post in reference to the leaks being investigated by the justice department?

Great job. I guess the ACLU lawyers didn't do their research before taking out their big ad in the NY Slimes. W and the DOJ have them boxed in on this one...

If the leaker(s) are really whistleblowers they will come forward and defend their actions. Otherwise, they are cowardly traitors.

To be protected as a whistleblower, you must report a crime. Trust me, I know this. There is no crime in monitoring enemy communications during wartime.

But I thought that holding any government office became a person's personal toy box and whatever measures they take to help the Democrats is OK. /sarcasm

It makes it easy to identify the Communist Cells that still exist in this Country. Never forget that just because the USSR died, the movement is alive and well. There is a goal to bury us. Never forget Nikita at the UN.

They'll complain about this part -

If the report reveals evidence of a criminal violation it will not be sent to the whistleblower, nor does it become part of the public file. Instead, the agency is required to forward the information directly to the Attorney General and to notify the Office of Personnel Management and the Office of Management and Budget of the referral.

Since he was part of the problem, however, this part here

If the Special Counsel determines that a disclosure involves counterintelligence or foreign intelligence information, which is prohibited from disclosure by law or Executive order, the disclosure will be transmitted to the National Security Advisor, the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in the House and Select Committee on Intelligence in the Senate.

would be the overriding concern, so in effect they could raise the alarm by telling other members of Congress what's up. This would have all been doing according to procedure, and the whistleblower would have been safe from any repercussion. As is stands now, he or she broke the law, and broke it good and hard. Either we really drop the hammer on the violator, or we may as well save ourselves some money and just stop classifying things.

Of course there is panic in DU land - they were planning on enough leaks (from their inside source) to get the American people upset enough at Bush to regain the house in '06 and impeach Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld. Marjority of American people support what Bush has been doing with intellegence gathering, Rasmussen: National Security Agency (64% Support) and yes panic is setting in. Wish they would all march off the left cliff like lemmings.
