BAGHDAD, Iraq - Long lines formed at gas stations in Baghdad on Friday as word spread that Iraq's largest oil refinery had shut down, spreading fears of a gas shortage

did a search didnt see this yet, i wonder if this is a way to indoctrinate them in the ideas of class envy? gotta start them out right early you know!
I can practically guarentee this is the sort of "back-up headline" the MSM keeps handy when there isn't any deaths or violence to report.
I could very well imagine you're right. They're such despicable scum.
According to the news story, this refinery produces about 50,000 barrels per day of gasoline. That is a small refinery. A typical world scale refinery would produce 4 to 5 times as much gasoline.
Apparently, the issue is the tank truck drivers being afraid of attack while delivering gasoline to filling stations.
We had the same problem in Atlanta when an alarmist media outlet scared every Friday motorist to the pumps. We too got national attention. Thankfully, our Governator Sonny Purdue cut the gas tax. That was until yesterday.
You know things are REALLY getting better when the MSM has to resort to this for bad news. In 6 months, I expect to read something like: "Iraqi Apartment Dwellers Fear Insufficient Closet Space".
ROTF!
At some point, they will have to resort to the same bad news they drum up for negative domestic stories, i.e.
"Second-Hand Smoke Threatens Iraqi Children, Experts Say"

Touche!
Gas shortage = Oil glut as oil backs up in the supply chain...
They must be wishful thinking.
They are so transparent.
Everyone thinks that when a refinery gets shut down, or a pipeline breaks, that oil should go up...
That is not always the case...
Crude pipelines breaking shut a regional supply down, but in turn then, the rest of the market now has a deeper supply bank to draw from...
When a refinery goes down, oil stops flowing in the supply chain to the facility, again backing up the overall supply.
Tankers can't unload, and they begin to stack up in port...
All the oil in the middle east is useless without the network of distribution and refining and delivery infrastructure...
There is a problem in Iraq though with gas prices skyrocketing in the past couple weeks (higher than we pay, and they are at the source of the oil).
Iraqis are pissed, and the Iraqi govt. better fix it.
Perhaps it is really "...tank truck drivers NOT BEING PAID ENOUGH to be afraid of attack while delivering....
The price is gov't controlled and was raised to about 50 cents, but is that per liter?
