LONDON -- Maybe it was jumping on Oprah's couch.
Or perhaps it was his testy interview with Matt Lauer on NBC's "Today" show, or his constant expressions of love for his fiancee, Katie Holmes.
Maybe it was all of those things combined that prompted British movie fans to name Tom Cruise the most irritating actor in Hollywood.
Cruise was found to be more annoying than Jennifer Lopez, Julia Roberts, Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey.
Britain's Empire magazine surveyed 10,000 movie fans.
But while Cruise may annoy them off camera, they still like his movies. They named him the greatest movie star of all time.
Further, while Tom Cruise and Tom Cruise movies have still made some money, his recent ventures have been a disappointment versus expectations and his draw at the box office and as a star is viewed by many as being on the decline. And i stick to my view in general that the wrong roles ruin an actor's image with the public. Just a few examples:
Meg Ryan destroyed her career by trying to switch to tough, dislikable characters; Mary Tyler Moore lost her beloved image by playing a cold hearted bitch in Ordinary people; Richard Gere was in the dumps and ridiculed for years after appearing on film with a small penis (his own) until resurrected by Chicago, and the list goes on. And Cruise damaged himself by being depicted as extraordinarily short in Eyes Wide Shut.
Ben Affleck is one of the worst actors I have ever seen.
Has he made it past 300 pounds yet ?

While Tom Cruise may not be a "great" actor, he is very good. I have enjoyed his work in many films & find him believable in most roles. I liked him a lot in Collateral and Jerry McGuire.
I want to nominate Robin Williams. Not for political reasons, but he just drives me crazy watching him speak.
He did well in Good Will Hunting, but thats about it.

The scary Robin Williams....is very good.
He was very good in the movie with Jamie Foxx, I can't remember the name. They were both excellent. I think that was the only time I'd ever really seen him in anything, he played a hit man.
Sadly, he is making Mrs. Doubtfire 2.

The Gore campaign's last event, a final effort to energize South Beach voters, didn't end until about 1 AM, but Affleck flew back to New York that morning and made a surprise live appearance on The Rosie O'Donnell Show. It was 10:15 when he made his final public pitch from a Rockefeller Center studio, noting that he was "a little bit tired...I've been out getting involved, doing stuff and trying to get people to vote. And that's why I came by here." Also, "Today is the get-out-the-vote day and...I think this is the time to get involved, especially the young folks who are here ... I'm about to go vote," Affleck then said, adding later, "I am personally gonna vote for Al Gore."
As returns came in that night, Affleck told Salon's Amy Reiter, "I'm nervous this evening, but one of the things that's exciting to me is the amount of people who voted. No matter who wins, I think it's a healthy thing for our country that so many voters have come out and participated in the process. Either way, I think the most important number will be the turnout." Amazingly, as The Smoking Gun later discovered, Affleck himself had never bothered to vote.

Damon is smart enough to keep his mouth shut about his true views, he just gives money to A.N.S.W.E.R., MoveOn.org, Americans Coming Together, etc.
He idolizes Noam Chomsky and he and his folks are close personal friends with Communist academic Howard Zinn, author of the vile A People's History of the United States - a book that Will Hunting references in Good Will Hunting, which he wrote and starred in.
Tom Cruise is surely one of the greats.
Color of Money with Paul Newman, Collateral with Foxx and Pinkett...the list goes on.
They're revolting traitors. Cruze is just irritating.
Whiney ass Clinton defender Charles Grodin still heads my list. Cruise is a close second.
There you go: Jerry Lewis is worse.
Its just like hollywood to put an anti-American pos like Matt Damon in a role of American hero of WW2 as Private Ryan.
