LONDON -- Maybe it was jumping on Oprah's couch.
Or perhaps it was his testy interview with Matt Lauer on NBC's "Today" show, or his constant expressions of love for his fiancee, Katie Holmes.
Maybe it was all of those things combined that prompted British movie fans to name Tom Cruise the most irritating actor in Hollywood.
Cruise was found to be more annoying than Jennifer Lopez, Julia Roberts, Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey.
Britain's Empire magazine surveyed 10,000 movie fans.
But while Cruise may annoy them off camera, they still like his movies. They named him the greatest movie star of all time.

IMHO Eyes Wide Shut ruined Cruise's career for good. It depicted him as a bore and worst of all showed how short he is. People don't forget those images. If no one saw it, how could the images ruin him?
The box office of his movies since then should lay to rest the idea that his career is ruined.

Oh, yeah. He's WAY up there. Right next to Sean Penn and Barbra Streisand.

Sorry, in this case Lauer is a far more annoying entity than Cruise. I mean, no contest--Cruise is an actor, fer Pete's sake, while Lauer is on there being his puppethead self daily, pretending to be some kind of serious journalist.

Penn was the snowman, and he was very good in that role.
But it was not acting. The character was a sniveling, drug-abusing, lying, no-good traitor. All Sean Penn had to do was be himself.

Just watched Key Largo again the other night. An army of Spielbergs couldn't touch that film.

Gee, Cruise was up against tough competition. Amazing that he won. Julia Roberts is about as obnoxious as it gets. JLo is an idiot. Sandler sets my teeth on edge, and Jim Carey, well, he's Jim Carey. He hasn't found his real persona yet.

Hmm well a bomb doesn't help, either. Eyes was a disaster, Last Samurai didn't do very well, and War of the Worlds was a disappointment. He did better with Mission Impossible and that futuristic Spielberg movie (forget the name he had his eyes removed in it) but I think they both sucked. Certainly think he has not had a great role other than the three I mentioned.

More annoying than Osama ben-Laden or Adolph Hitler according to amIannoying.com. But most "annoying of all time"? More annoying than Robin Williams? Or Bobby Brown? Or Robert Blake? Or Donald Trump? Jim Carrey can be pretty annoying. Burt Reynolds went through some very annoying periods as well. Poor Liza too. Just about anybody on celebrity reality television qualifies as well. "First Supermodel" Janice Dickinson and the rest ...
