And then one guy even went to the extent of explaining the seven principals....which are borderline between communism and socialism...telling the wife that he didn't need to sink to that level.

Actually, there's nothing "borderline" about the communism and socialism in the seven principles. Ron Everett (aka. Maulana Karenga) who founded the holiday did so to further his racist black nationalist Marxist agenda. He has stated so several times and is still a self-proclaimed Marxist to this day.

If I told you what this guy's name (Amen-Ra) is symbolized by in the Book of the Dead (Egypt), I'd be called a racist and kicked out of here SOO fast. (for stating a fact, no less).

The entire Kwanzaa thing is taken from Ron Everett's (aka. Maulana Karenga) underlying pseudo-religious philosophy called Kawaida. Kawaida is based upon Everett's interpretation of the Egyptian Book of the Dead. No lie.

Please do post what you were going to post about Amon-Ra and the Book of the Dead. It is relevant to any discussion of Kwanzaa.

Equality does not imply indistinguishability. A man is not worth more to God just because he can become a priest, just as a woman isn't worth more to God because she can become a mother. In both cases accepting that particular, gender-specific vocation gives people more culpability for what they do in this life, not less.

In other words, a priest is no better than a single laywoman, but if they commited the same sin it would go worse for the priest.

You would enjoy living in Daytona. Our Mayor is prior head of NAACP n the SF Bay area. She is bought and owned by special interests. Her along with the local "Historically Black College" (BCC), Kwanzaa gets mmore political notice/support than Xmas or Easter.
Side note (and this is funny): As a caucasian, you can get a full scholorship to BCC as a "minority", all because of your skin color. Reverse racism or justifying the skin color shakedown that permeates our society?

The 'Kwanza section' was packed with unsold merchandise that will soon be returned to a warehouse, or destroyed on-site for credit from the manufacturer.

Actually you probably hit a bigger nail on the head than you realize.

Most blacks pay little attention to the holiday. This would probably die on the vine if so many whites weren't agitated by it therefore keeping it alive.

Kwanzaa is a holiday for white liberals, not blacks.

BINGO!

Bush's ignorant, pandering presidential messages over the past 5 years recognizing the illegitimate holiday were not the statements of a "white" who was agitated by Kwanzaa.

Yeah I think so.... Guess Ann is taking it easy over the holidays and it has been a slow news week.

We know what socialist militants of African descent do, which is Kwanzaa, and that is their substitute for the winter solstice, but all other religions have probably some equivalent celebration.

What do Scientologists do for Christmas?

I was thinking more about odd names like Dr. Ssendi Ssensalo, Renee Salary-Collins, or Dr. Skyne Uku-Wertimer.

But you're right, there is a Jim Robinson in the Black Studies department. Hmm.

Well, well... I had NO idea that Kwanzaa came from an interpretation of the Book of the Dead. In it, one of Amen-Ra's 5 portrayals is as an ape. Amen-Ra worshipped himself as king of all gods and men, is sometimes called the sun god, and his name means "hidden" or "false friend" among other things.

During the 400-500 year time when he was worshipped in Egypt, the Israelis were slaves who built many of the temples. He is not considered a benevolent deity, as he is written to have demanded worship, and was not the creator, but self-created. Historically, there are many many deaths associated with the excavation of a tomb containing his priestess' mummy.

Despite modern perceptions that blend all the black activists of the '60s, the Black Panthers did not hate whites. They did not seek armed revolution.

That would be news to David Horowitz who worked with them and Huey Newton their early years.
