I'd find it disturbing thinking that I've been targeted by them for membership somehow, but I think it was a random act, and it's a slow news week around here. A 70,000 circulation nation-wide? That's nothing.
I'd read it as if it were "The Onion." Heck, I'd send it on to "The Onion" publishers, or the "Scrappleface" folks and let them work their magic. Satire is really only good if it's partially true.
