I posted this because it certainly is a good topic for discussion.

Are the facts correct is one thing I would ask? Is gun confiscation strictly a liberal plan or mindset? Who else would want to confiscate guns? How would gun confiscation be administered?

I think banning guns means more than restrictions on sales of guns and more than gun registration, it must mean going door to door and confiscating the weapons.

Government that has grown to big is the biggest threat to our liberties one and all. They start small, and like boiling a frog, most people don't wake up to what's done to them until they are the ones who are getting their oxes gored. Start out with something simple.. say Car Seats "For the chilluns." Then Seat Belts "For cutting down on health care costs" Then Smoking "oops, for the chilluns again" Then "For whatever reason." Finally it will be gun registration "Why should cars be licensed and guns not?" is the argument Before long it will be "Papers Please!" and finally "We need you to go into this large chamber, take your clothes off and all personal effects and go into the de-lousing area. After that we will process you." I can see it happening just as if it had already occurred. oh.. wait.. it has. Germany, 1935 is when it started most recently.

Gun control is a totalitarian mindset. Anyone who wants to rule a people by force, first needs to remove from the people the ability to defend themselves. This was true in feudal societies. It was true in Nazi Germany and the USSR. It's still true in Africa, NK, China, and the Fourth Reich European Union. Either defend your right to keep and bear arms in order to protect yourself, or just put your chains on and obey.

Gun control is all the liberals have. They've spent the last 75 years systematically destroying our culture in pursuit of Utopia. Every issue we must address is a taboo with liberals: race, personal responsibility, the need for law and order, the poison of socialism.

Being a liberal allows them to live a life of idle privilege while continuing to feel good about themselves. Doing anything substantive to fix things would require repudiating Utopianism and acknowledging the disastrous results of everything the left has done since FDR.

Mainly, but not entirely. No liberal I know approves of guns, but there are a few conservatives out there who are also anti-gun.

The way they are doing it now - incrementally. FIRST you start in school with young kds. You brainwash them into thinking Guns = bad. Then you pass sturpid restricting laws against "assault rifles", "Saturday Night Specials" ".50 caliber Sniper rifles", etc. Then you require registration of guns on the state level or permitting on the state level. That way, they know who has what and where to go to get it.

You also pass idiotic restrictions like trigger lock laws, and "smart-gun" bills.

Eventually, the law-abiding citizens are gradually convinced they are saer by giving up guns and gradually the criminal element becomes bolder and gets its hands on more and more illegal smuggled guns.

Then you have what exists today in England and other places which tried this nonesense.
