Israeli warplanes early Wednesday staged a raid on a Palestinian base south of Beirut, a military spokesman said.He said the Israeli army "attacked a base of the PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine) situated south of Beirut."
"This raid is a riposte to the rocket attack against the north of Israel," he added. "We consider this kind of attack serious."
Seven Katyusha rockets were fired at north Israel from southern Lebanon overnight Wednesday, Lebanese police said.
No one immediately claimed responsibility.
Spielberg deeply saddened.
The base is a leftover of the syrian "brotherly presence" in Lebanon, we warned about it months ago, together with another hotpoint on the disputed Lebanese Syrian border in the area of Deir El Ashayer. Moreover we have the feeling that it is a prearranged scenario following the complete ineffectiveness of the raid.
Not sure I understand. Are you saying the Israeli raid described here was ineffective? Prearranged for what reason?
Sorry for being so dumb.
Not at all, you cannot ask someone who is thousands of miles away to know every detail other than the media presents.
The 'base' comprises a few tunnels dug the soviet way. Though these tunnels existed in 1982, the IDF did not blow them up during the operation Peace of Galilee, but left them in place after its withdrawal. Several air raids and naval bombardments in the 80's and 90's (the tunnels are 2 miles away from the seashore in a hilly terrain) did nothing but break the windows all around. These are my direct findings.
Another finding is that the vehicles stationed there last April all had Syrian plates.
At this point I too am not sure to understand this game. No bunker busters were used to defeat this kind of target.
can somebody send me a link to that analysis of how israel could launch a one way strike on Iranian reactors and facilities. TIA
found it, everyone should read.
